To be devastated at the demise of the Labour Party, and to wonder how anyone can look at themselves in the mirror if they vote for Corbyn now?

snowagain · 02/04/2018 08:56

Just that really.

Been a Labour supporter all my life, til the last election. Because hell will freeze over before I will vote for Jeremy Corbyn.

I am literally devastated at the demise of the Labour party, that has been systematically destroyed from the inside out, by Corbyn and his cronies, and by Corbyn's pathetic behaviour. From his denial of bad behaviour from his party, to the way he shuts down anyone who challenges him. (Including reporters, and his own people ..... if they don't agree with everything he says, he sacks them.)

In the last election, for the first time ever in my life, I was unable to vote, because I am not voting for Conservatives. (Even so, if I HAD to vote by law, I would vote for Conservatives before I would vote for Labour.)

The Labour party is dying a slow and painful death, and is a laughing stock. First of all we have the standing joke that is Corbyn, with his bizarre 'extreme-left' bollocks, and refusing to answer any questions that don't suit him, .......'Mr Corbyn what about the antisemitism in in your party?' 'YES it is a nice day isn't it? Thank you, goodbye!' Fucking twit! Hmm

And then we have his ludicrous and laughable cronies... Diane 'can't count for toffee' Abbott, Monroe 'bigoted ranty' Bergdorf, and now Eddie fucking Izzard in a dress. Hmm

Even people I know who were obsessive Corbynites a year or so ago, are cringing with embarrassment now, as he turns the party into more of a laughing stock every day. And as I said in the thread title, how can anyone POSSIBLY support him and the Labour party now?

That's it really. I am literally so gutted at the demise of my party.

Until Corbyn fucks off and takes his cronies with him, Labour is dead to me. And I know a LOT of people who think the same!

R.I.P. The Labour Party. 😢😢😢

Austerity, the bedroom tax and the rise of food banks is the fault of the state.

This thread really shows how easy it is to be brainwashed by political sound bites and the tabloids.

Mydoghatesthebath · 02/04/2018 21:31

Oh brainwashed now! Right you are dear

Heyduggeesflipflop · 02/04/2018 21:34

Ghost of - and who’s fault is it the Labour Party doesn’t like Jewish people?

ALittleAubergine · 02/04/2018 21:37

I think duggee is just angling for reactions.

GhostofFrankGrimes · 02/04/2018 21:38

Your questions are ridiculous. Now that your limited economic understanding has been exposed you revert to plan a.

GhostofFrankGrimes · 02/04/2018 21:38

Yes I think so alittle.

WhalesOfYore · 02/04/2018 21:44

This is the 7th richest nation on Earth. The fact that people live in poverty here is a failure of neo liberal economics.

If you managed to apply a particle of logic, you might realize that one of the reasons why we're one of the richest countries on Earth is because of the success of neo-liberal economics. Duh!

Heyduggeesflipflop · 02/04/2018 21:44

I wanted to understand what your economic revolution would look like. You stated above that you had issue with neo liberal economics (the free market in other words). I was interested in your views. If my economic illiteracy won’t allow that then I suppose I must accept that.

I just hope your other potential voters get it.

Gottagetmoving · 02/04/2018 21:45

Happy to oblige - sorry to burst your bubble, perhaps if I said poverty was all the fault of the state that would make you happier? Because it isn’t

Poverty is the fault of policies by the likes of the Tories. It's the fault of people like you who vote for them and couldn't give a shit about others.
People don't choose poverty. They don't choose to be homeless.
They don't want to pay bedroom tax just because there are no smaller affordable homes to move to!
The fault lies squarely with government policy
As for bubbles, it's obvious you live in one because you sure as fuck have no clue about people in this country.

GhostofFrankGrimes · 02/04/2018 21:46

Tell the people in food banks that neo liberalism is successful. Wages in this country are stagnating. Millions priced out of housing market. The gap between rich and poor is getting wider. Duh!

jasjas1973 · 02/04/2018 21:46

@Heyduggeesflipflop

Poverty and homelessness a choice?

You need to watch what ex Tory minister Micheal Portilo found when he had similar views to yours and swapped places for a week with a family on benefits...... there was a TV series on it....... he very soon changed his tune.
You might not as you do sound like Iain Duncan Smith.

Heyduggeesflipflop · 02/04/2018 21:48

Gottagetmoving - and we go full circle, it’s all the fault of the evil tories

I call evil harbouring those who would readily persecute a minority but what would I know.

Do turn off the lights in the swp hq when you leave please

Heyduggeesflipflop · 02/04/2018 21:50

Jasjas - there is a real difference between poor and poverty. Get yourself over to almost any African country to see the latter. Those who are homeless are often so for reasons completely unrelated to money

GhostofFrankGrimes · 02/04/2018 21:51

Hey,

The problem is what neo liberalism has enabled in the UK over the last 40 years and the mantra that the free market knows best. This led to council house sells offs, privatisation, supported globalisation to name a few. This rarely benefited the British worker. The fall out ie unaffordable housing is being felt today.

WhalesOfYore · 02/04/2018 21:51

Tell the people in food banks that neo liberalism is successful. Wages in this country are stagnating. Millions priced out of housing market. The gap between rich and poor is getting wider. Duh

Its success is in making us one of the richest countries in the world, but not an equal one. Since I'm not a crazy communist, I much prefer that to countries where everyone is equal but dirt poor, a bit like in Corbyn's favourite country of Venezuela! Grin

Gottagetmoving · 02/04/2018 21:51

but what would I know

Fuck all from what you've been posting.

Heyduggeesflipflop · 02/04/2018 21:53

So what do we do instead - I appreciate you and I will disagree on what colour the sky is - so seriously, what is the alternative? Isn’t capitalism just the best of a bad bunch of economic choices?

GhostofFrankGrimes · 02/04/2018 21:55

Can’t believe it took 29 pages to mention Venezuela. Hmm

Let us celebrate the Tory ‘I’m alright jack’ attitude and wallow in our ignorance. Perhaps we can discuss the undeserving poor at the next dinner party?

GhostofFrankGrimes · 02/04/2018 21:56

Nobody has suggested ending capitalism rather reigning it in ie greater regulation and better wealth redistribution

GhostofFrankGrimes · 02/04/2018 21:56

Crazy socialist ideas I know..

WhalesOfYore · 02/04/2018 21:57

I can see why you don't like people mentioning Venezuela - Corbyn and Owen Jones used to champion it for years, before socialism turned an oil-rich country into a bankrupt basket-case. Funny how they never mention it now, eh? Grin

Heyduggeesflipflop · 02/04/2018 21:59

Ok but greater regulation disincentivizes industry (ie wealth creators) and wealth redistribution discourages individual effort - don’t you end up in a race to the bottom where all are equally worse off? Isn’t what you propose worse than communism because everyone will have to second guess where the state stands at any given moment?

GhostofFrankGrimes · 02/04/2018 22:14

Without regulation/limited regs corporations create wealth for themselves not employees. See sports direct and amazon for what is wrong with neo liberalism .

Wealth redistribution only discourages effort I if you buy into the scrounger narrative. More money for schools and hospitals and communities seems like a good thing to me.

ghostyslovesheets · 02/04/2018 22:17

yes - are you suggesting trickle down worked

of course regulation is needed - look at the bloody rail network

other countries seem to cope - I hate being blackmailed by those who profit from the poor

GhostofFrankGrimes · 02/04/2018 22:29

Publicly owned rail networks work in other countries. Privatised railways in uk have been an expensive disaster.
