To be devastated at the demise of the Labour Party, and to wonder how anyone can look at themselves in the mirror if they vote for Corbyn now?

snowagain · 02/04/2018 08:56

Just that really.

Been a Labour supporter all my life, til the last election. Because hell will freeze over before I will vote for Jeremy Corbyn.

I am literally devastated at the demise of the Labour party, that has been systematically destroyed from the inside out, by Corbyn and his cronies, and by Corbyn's pathetic behaviour. From his denial of bad behaviour from his party, to the way he shuts down anyone who challenges him. (Including reporters, and his own people ..... if they don't agree with everything he says, he sacks them.)

In the last election, for the first time ever in my life, I was unable to vote, because I am not voting for Conservatives. (Even so, if I HAD to vote by law, I would vote for Conservatives before I would vote for Labour.)

The Labour party is dying a slow and painful death, and is a laughing stock. First of all we have the standing joke that is Corbyn, with his bizarre 'extreme-left' bollocks, and refusing to answer any questions that don't suit him, .......'Mr Corbyn what about the antisemitism in in your party?' 'YES it is a nice day isn't it? Thank you, goodbye!' Fucking twit! Hmm

And then we have his ludicrous and laughable cronies... Diane 'can't count for toffee' Abbott, Monroe 'bigoted ranty' Bergdorf, and now Eddie fucking Izzard in a dress. Hmm

Even people I know who were obsessive Corbynites a year or so ago, are cringing with embarrassment now, as he turns the party into more of a laughing stock every day. And as I said in the thread title, how can anyone POSSIBLY support him and the Labour party now?

That's it really. I am literally so gutted at the demise of my party.

Until Corbyn fucks off and takes his cronies with him, Labour is dead to me. And I know a LOT of people who think the same!

R.I.P. The Labour Party. 😢😢😢

He wants to re-nationalise everything but wont tell us he will afford it, there will be more money for everyone but it wont cost us anything.

Labour manifesto was fully costed.

Justanotherlurker · 02/04/2018 19:36

@Bombardier25966

Again, whataboutism

Diane was there to promote her own flag ship policy that was already ridiculed on a basic level, basic level! not waiting for government figures, it was a populist approach ... she was asked for basic numbers, hammond, may, etc needed background checks

This bias of any criticism of being the other is what is making Labour a laughing stock, the argument should be on facts and figures, we can disregard the fact that she has publically back tracked on her argument not being economically viable if you wish to still project some kind of right wing conspiracy if you wish

Gabbyleo · 02/04/2018 19:38

So many Tory puppets. How can you be a labour supporter and then question the policies makes no sense to me.

'We can't afford for our doctors to get a pay rise'

'We can't afford for re-nationalisation blah blah'

The only people who have these type of vies are the right.

TomRavenscroft · 02/04/2018 19:40

dazed, surely that can only happen if May either calls a GE and wins massively and therefore doesn't need the DUP any more? They won't countenance a border in the Irish Sea, will they?

Justanotherlurker · 02/04/2018 19:40

Labour manifesto was fully costed.

Depends on who you ask, it had a lot of caveats and consequences and non of them was rosey, that is ignoring the ones they backtracked on ..

so yeah "costed"...

Walkingdeadfangirl · 02/04/2018 19:40

Labour manifesto was fully costed
Yea that's the sort of crap momentum says, but the fact remains he wont tell us how we, UK tax payers, will be able to afford to re-nationalise everything. He might as well write it on a big red bus.

Mydoghatesthebath · 02/04/2018 19:42

Oh of course the right wing press again Hmm

No racism anti Semitic mysogynistic members here nothing to see. What mural? What self ID? What chaos what insbikty to hold the tories to account?

No all the right wing press

GhostofFrankGrimes · 02/04/2018 19:43

What speaks volumes here is that the Tories have been embarked in civil war over Brexit for 2 years (The Mays/Hammonds vs Rees Mogg) and not a peep in the press.

The Tory supporters here so embarrassed by their own pathetic party have failed in their constant attempts at discrediting Corbyn (with the odd school yard insult throw in) now want to fight yesterdays battles over manifestos - despite the Tories ripping their own up because it was so out of touch (fox hunting anyone?).

PoorYorick · 02/04/2018 19:44

How can you be a labour supporter and then question the policies makes no sense to me.

Are you serious?

Justanotherlurker · 02/04/2018 19:46

The only people who have these type of vies are the right.

And you are still alluding to the fact that any criticism is tory plants... its become laughable...

Laying arguments out in very layman's terms and not accepting a nuanced argument is not showing your political knowledge

There was a report out after the last GE (I will let you find it) that highlighted that within online political debates it was those who voted conservative who had more political knowledge and more nuance in discussion of how to make things work than labour supporters....

Moussemoose · 02/04/2018 19:47

Forgive me if I don't give a shit about a mural

The only thing it takes for evil to flourish is for good people to do nothing.

We should all care about the mural.

merrymouse · 02/04/2018 19:48

Forgive me if I don't give a shit about a mural.

Surely it’s possible to give a shit about a mural and care about austerity?

Is Labour so lacking in competent politicians?

Baubletrouble43 · 02/04/2018 19:48

I thought it was stated clearly that Corbyn intended to afford renationalization by raising corporation tax.

PoorYorick · 02/04/2018 19:50

Corbyn counts on whatabouters not giving a shit about antisemitic murals. A lot of people count on it.

Gabbyleo · 02/04/2018 19:50

Diane is only a problem due to her race and sex. When Boris goes around saying he wants to build a bridge the France. Making comments that put British citizen abroads life at risk? Nobody complains. People even want him to be the leader of the party. It's the way politics is. White men get treated completely differently to women. I would say the criticism May gets has a lot to do with her sex. She's getting treated worse than Cameron who was god damn awful!!

dadshere · 02/04/2018 19:51

Yes, it is terrible the way Corbyn has destroyed the Labour party, by returning it to its roots as a party, started by trade unions, to represent ordinary working people. The shoddy way he has campaigned for peace, and won awards for this; campaigned for increasing worker's rights and salaries at the expense of the rich, tried to limit the Tories/libdem austerity. Yep terrible- if you are a rich entitled expletive with no thought of normal working people, just a ridiculous sense of entitlement.

neonyellowshoes · 02/04/2018 19:51

Yes and dead babies are more of an evil than a mural.

Clunj · 02/04/2018 19:51

I find JC imperfect. To my shame, I’m not up to speed on antisemitism allegations and must read up. I’m not too fussed on the self-ID issues because I’ve emigrated to somewhere where self-ID is already protected in law and I’m not aware of any problems as a result.

I’ll likely vote Labour next time around. With Brexit, I think the last two Tory governments have done more to damage the UK than any other government in history. Lib dems aren’t really an option in my UK constituency or I would consider them.

Justanotherlurker · 02/04/2018 19:54

I thought it was stated clearly that Corbyn intended to afford renationalization by raising corporation tax.

The nuanced argument is that is anti eu in general, it also ignores the argument of capital flight and if it wasn't such an issue wales and scotland would be introducing corbyns manifesto...

Its called geopolitics

GhostofFrankGrimes · 02/04/2018 19:55

I'm glad someone brought Boris up

Johnson's 'piccaninnies' apology

www.theguardian.com/politics/2008/jan/23/london.race

Didn't stop him becoming Foreign Secretary.

Gabbyleo · 02/04/2018 19:59

@ GhostofFrankGrimes

He always gets a free pass by the media. But why am I surprised, many of the CEOs of these 'news' organisations are all Boris' friends and school chums.

PoorYorick · 02/04/2018 20:01

Exploiting infant mortality to deflect attention from anti-Semitism, and suggest one cannot champion two causes at once, is intellectually dishonest and utterly obscene.

Walkingdeadfangirl · 02/04/2018 20:01

Boris Johnston might be an idiot but he is a very clever idiot. Abbot is an idiot with a very low IQ. Not the same thing.

Justanotherlurker · 02/04/2018 20:04

Diane is only a problem due to her race and sex

Nope and nope, that is trying to play identity politics, there are many things wrong, her race, identity has not undoubtedly got her some problems the converse is that it any problems should be ignored because of her characteristics, this is the state of political discourse now.

It has become a political football on both sides, hence why a lot of the right are now highlighting the anti-semitism.

SirVixofVixHall · 02/04/2018 20:05

“Dead babies are more of an evil than a mural” ..these are our options ? Being disturbed by the anti Semitic mural somehow means we don’t care about children getting killed in conflict? .. Shock This attitude is why I will not be voting for labour again.
