To be devastated at the demise of the Labour Party, and to wonder how anyone can look at themselves in the mirror if they vote for Corbyn now?

Just that really.

Been a Labour supporter all my life, til the last election. Because hell will freeze over before I will vote for Jeremy Corbyn.

I am literally devastated at the demise of the Labour party, that has been systematically destroyed from the inside out, by Corbyn and his cronies, and by Corbyn's pathetic behaviour. From his denial of bad behaviour from his party, to the way he shuts down anyone who challenges him. (Including reporters, and his own people ..... if they don't agree with everything he says, he sacks them.)

In the last election, for the first time ever in my life, I was unable to vote, because I am not voting for Conservatives. (Even so, if I HAD to vote by law, I would vote for Conservatives before I would vote for Labour.)

The Labour party is dying a slow and painful death, and is a laughing stock. First of all we have the standing joke that is Corbyn, with his bizarre 'extreme-left' bollocks, and refusing to answer any questions that don't suit him, .......'Mr Corbyn what about the antisemitism in in your party?' 'YES it is a nice day isn't it? Thank you, goodbye!' Fucking twit! Hmm

And then we have his ludicrous and laughable cronies... Diane 'can't count for toffee' Abbott, Monroe 'bigoted ranty' Bergdorf, and now Eddie fucking Izzard in a dress. Hmm

Even people I know who were obsessive Corbynites a year or so ago, are cringing with embarrassment now, as he turns the party into more of a laughing stock every day. And as I said in the thread title, how can anyone POSSIBLY support him and the Labour party now?

That's it really. I am literally so gutted at the demise of my party.

Until Corbyn fucks off and takes his cronies with him, Labour is dead to me. And I know a LOT of people who think the same!

R.I.P. The Labour Party. 😢😢😢

I’ve got an Irish passport thanks. I’m certainly not wrong on the sovereignty issue and Brexit white paper. I know facts aren’t a leaver strong point.

ilikebread · 02/04/2018 15:12

The Tory’s are terrible, Jeremy Corbin is terrible, labour is a cesspit of racism and sexism. I don’t know who to vote for

gamerwidow · 02/04/2018 15:12

Saying 'but Israel' everytime antisemitism is raised is like saying 'but terrorism' everything Islamophobia is raised. The Jews are a people, Israel is a state they are not the same thing.
That mural was antisemitic not anti Israel.

neonyellowshoes · 02/04/2018 15:13

Nobody is explaining the anti-Semitic stuff.

Apparently it's self evident and anybody who doesn't know is a bit thick...

BertrandRussell · 02/04/2018 15:15

"The Jews are a people, Israel is a state they are not the same thing."

Absolutely. I agree. But I have been called anti senitc when I criticised the actions of the government of Israel. And yes, the mural was appallingly anti Semitic. I honestly don't think anyone has said it isnt

Gottagetmoving · 02/04/2018 15:16

Gottaget...and if you and your fellow travelers are so determined not to recognise blatant anti-Semitic imagery due to your political stance, then I can’t help you. However I can be, and am, offended by your wilful ignorance

FFS it was about capitalism! I don't need your help! I'm offended by your inability to understand imagery as it was intended and not by interpretation by people determined to find something to be offended by.
I'm offended by rich capitalists, whoever they are, controlling the world's wealth and the media. I couldn't give two shites what religion they are or not, or where they come from...and the mural did not just contain Jewish capitalists, which, if you read the article, you would know. But don't let facts get in the way of your prejudice.

ilikebread · 02/04/2018 15:17

BertrandRussell do we really want the potential leader of our country condoning such a horrible racist ‘artwork’?

shortsaint · 02/04/2018 15:17

What is this mural?

PoorYorick · 02/04/2018 15:18

I honestly do not understand and I am not stupid!

Because they so frequently express their criticism of Israel by depicting Jews, sorry, ZIONISTS, as hook-nosed, mercenary and ruling the world.

Obviously they nuance it a bit or just deny they're doing it because six million Jews later, the world has finally started to get wise to this. But it's still what they're doing when Israelis or Israeli rulers are drawn as if they came right out of Third Reich propaganda, and depicted as if they are the puppet masters pulling the strings of America, Russia or whatever country you think is dominant on the global stage.

It also doesn't help when fucktards like Corbyn, in 'legitimately criticising Israel', give credence and respect to hate mongers who openly call for Israel's utter destruction and call Jews foul names in their home countries and mother tongues.

Israel is fair game for criticism like any democracy, but it's astounding how often, in doing this, the same old biblical libels keep on and on and on coming up with regard to the Jewish state.

The code word is Zionists, which actually covers anyone who thinks Israel's got a legitimate right just to exist. But if you substitute the word 'Zionist' with 'Jew' in an awful lot of the propaganda, you'll find it's actually utterly indistinguishable from all the historical shite that's been the same since time immemorial.

gussyfinknottle · 02/04/2018 15:18

I can't like Corbyn. I've tried. I can't. Telling me my mum stinks of poo or whatever other "intellectual " criticism you have of people who won't vote Labour with The Blessed JC at the head won't change my mind.

ilikebread · 02/04/2018 15:19

Gottagetmoving I understand the image perfectly. The depictions of ‘hook-nosed men’ is horriblely anti Semitic.

Gottagetmoving · 02/04/2018 15:22

Read and consider the article....They represent actual people...some who happen to be Jewish...and some who are not...

SnowJokeAnymore · 02/04/2018 15:22

It's tough being a mum.

gussyfinknottle · 02/04/2018 15:22

If Corbyn didn't spot that this mural was straight out of the Goebbels playbook, he's not a very good Labour Leader. If that idiot thinks posting a Holocaust denial meme or whatever is " to promote debate " they are an idiot too. That would be like me posting a picture of the Klan and saying "let's have a debate about whether the Klan are a force for good or evil ". Fucking stupid and insulting. And dangerous.

shortsaint · 02/04/2018 15:23

Just googled it, and quite frankly it seems to me that we need to focus on the real threat at hand right now and that is ousting the Tories and having a coherent opposition. This infighting is just a distraction and makes the party look nonsensical. Storm in a bloody teapot, picked up by the media who would rather support the status quo.

PoorYorick · 02/04/2018 15:24

"The Jews are a people, Israel is a state they are not the same thing."

Which is why you would imagine that criticism of the latter (which is entirely legitimate and indeed engaged in by many Knesset members) wouldn't so very often mirror age-old libels of the former. And yet...

shortsaint · 02/04/2018 15:26

Gamerwidow THANK YOU, and thank you C4 Fact-check.

As I said then ...

IntelligentYetIndecisive · 02/04/2018 15:27

Yeah, let's forget the Holocaust denial, the blatant silencing of sexually assaulted women, the crushing of dissent by intimidation and the open misogyny of the trans women voted into positions of responsibility.

Cuz Tories is not a fucking argument.

TomRavenscroft · 02/04/2018 15:27

I can't follow all the ins and outs of this any more, but I read that the mural depicts financiers who are not Jewish as well as ones who are; it's about elite bankers, not about Jewish people. And that the symbol that many people are describing as being that of the Illuminati is actually that of the Freemasons, not so squarely associated with Jewish people.

IntelligentYetIndecisive · 02/04/2018 15:31

From The Scotsman

To be devastated at the demise of the Labour Party, and to wonder how anyone can look at themselves in the mirror if they vote for Corbyn now?
BertrandRussell · 02/04/2018 15:32

Hang on- Corbyn is a Holocauast denier??

Justanotherlurker · 02/04/2018 15:33

@TomRavenscroft

Read the interview the artist did with David Icke....

I don't think Corbyn himself is an anti-semite, but he has got quite a signigicant sum in his party, and tha majority of people asking for nuance of discussion would not afford it if it was coming from any other party.
