To be devastated at the demise of the Labour Party, and to wonder how anyone can look at themselves in the mirror if they vote for Corbyn now?

Just that really.

Been a Labour supporter all my life, til the last election. Because hell will freeze over before I will vote for Jeremy Corbyn.

I am literally devastated at the demise of the Labour party, that has been systematically destroyed from the inside out, by Corbyn and his cronies, and by Corbyn's pathetic behaviour. From his denial of bad behaviour from his party, to the way he shuts down anyone who challenges him. (Including reporters, and his own people ..... if they don't agree with everything he says, he sacks them.)

In the last election, for the first time ever in my life, I was unable to vote, because I am not voting for Conservatives. (Even so, if I HAD to vote by law, I would vote for Conservatives before I would vote for Labour.)

The Labour party is dying a slow and painful death, and is a laughing stock. First of all we have the standing joke that is Corbyn, with his bizarre 'extreme-left' bollocks, and refusing to answer any questions that don't suit him, .......'Mr Corbyn what about the antisemitism in in your party?' 'YES it is a nice day isn't it? Thank you, goodbye!' Fucking twit! Hmm

And then we have his ludicrous and laughable cronies... Diane 'can't count for toffee' Abbott, Monroe 'bigoted ranty' Bergdorf, and now Eddie fucking Izzard in a dress. Hmm

Even people I know who were obsessive Corbynites a year or so ago, are cringing with embarrassment now, as he turns the party into more of a laughing stock every day. And as I said in the thread title, how can anyone POSSIBLY support him and the Labour party now?

That's it really. I am literally so gutted at the demise of my party.

Until Corbyn fucks off and takes his cronies with him, Labour is dead to me. And I know a LOT of people who think the same!

R.I.P. The Labour Party. 😢😢😢

If being 'electable' means behaving like a Tory then that's not a party I want to be part of. Labour is not are party for neo liberal, neo cons, centre left. That's what the lib dems are for! Labour are losing our fundamental values are for what. To beat the tories?

There speaks a person who isn't being hit by Universal Credit and has no idea about the Labour Party's history.

Mydoghatesthebath · 02/04/2018 11:48

birds I honestly think they are frightened. Both the hard left and the hard right are very very scary people.

intelligent spot on. And competent. People vote for who looks more competent.

Thatcher beat Foot, Blaire best Major, Cameron best milliband.

Centrist, electable, competent and sensible.

Mydoghatesthebath · 02/04/2018 11:49

And you have to have broad appeal.

birdsdestiny · 02/04/2018 11:50

I know the reasons they are hesitating snowjoke, and I think you are right the spectre of the Sdp does hang heavy but there comes a point that not to act is collusion and their are risks with that stance too.

BonnieF · 02/04/2018 11:51

I agree about Yvette Cooper, I voted for her in the 2015 leadership election.

Maybe one day Labour will realise that electing a moderate, credible leader who is also a working mum would be a very positive offer to put to the electorate.....

birdsdestiny · 02/04/2018 11:51

'there are' that should say blush]

birdsdestiny · 02/04/2018 11:52

I give up Grin

Whizbang · 02/04/2018 11:52

YANBU OP. I could not agree with you more. In fact I was thinking exactly the same this morning as I read through some of the vile anti Semitic comments posted by Corbyn supporters on CIF claiming there is absolutely nothing wrong with that awful mural.

The ruin of the Labour Party is a real tragedy and I’m furious about it. And if anyone wants to tell me I am therefore a Tory, they can do one. A lot of my anger is due to the fact that Momentum and Corbyn are making a laughing stock at the only party who could realistically challenge the tories with a chance of winning an election. Idiots!

formerbabe · 02/04/2018 11:53

I think vast majority of people are fairly silent about politics and are fairly centre with no extreme views. These people are the ones whose votes win elections. The vocal left and vocal right are actually quite a small number...they just have loud voices.
However, no one represents the people in the middle at the moment. Therefore they are pushed into choosing a side and most go towards the right as it seems a safer bet than the left.

Just my view.

Thymeout · 02/04/2018 11:54

I've had enough of Corbynites lecturing me about the biased media, when they're trotting out tropes from the Canary and Squawkbox about how hard Corbyn worked for the Remain campaign and how it's ludicrous to accuse a lifetime anti-racist of being anti-semitic.

I saw how Corbyn stood by and let a Momentum activist (and LP member) attack Ruth Smeeth at the Antisemitism Report press conference - of all places - and then chatted amicably with him afterwards. I saw him on a platform, all pally, with Jackie Walker and I saw her speaking at the alternative Momentum conference, blaming the Jews for slavery and minimising the Holocaust.

All thanks to the BBC reporting these events. Are you saying they shouldn't? It's not their fault if Corbyn & Co show themselves up. I can make up my own mind, thank you. I've also seen Corbyn and Galloway on Iranian Press TV. Didn't sound to me as if they were trying to convince the Iranians of the error of their ways.

Every Labour leader has had to cope with a hostile right-wing press. Only Corbyn gives them so many open, and own, goals.

SnowJokeAnymore · 02/04/2018 11:55

Sorry you never know anyone's prior knowledge.

It was a cri de coeur that I echo then!

IntelligentYetIndecisive · 02/04/2018 11:56

@formerbabe. Yes. My thoughts exactly. Sad

Joanna57 · 02/04/2018 11:59

I am a Tory voter, always have been, always will be.

I first voted in 1979, the year I turned 18, for Margaret Thatcher, and I have voted Tory ever since.

I am so pleased to see all the Labourites that are now in a voting wilderness - a no vote will be a vote for the Conservatives.

Thank you.

Hopefully the Tory voters will not feel the same way, and vote to just keep Labour out. From what I know, they will do just that.

Oh and JRM.

Mydoghatesthebath · 02/04/2018 12:00

Thymeout well absolutely.

Bonnie I agree I think Yvette would be fantastic. Her dignity and her words regarding Salisbury were very heartening too see and you could see May was totally thinking ‘this woman is bloody good and thank god she’s not the leader’ because quite frankly Corbyn was a disgrace.

IntelligentYetIndecisive · 02/04/2018 12:01

@Joanna57 Smug posts like this are just as goading as the insulting posts by Tweetie.

Lay off.

Joanna57 · 02/04/2018 12:06

Intelli

Why?

Smug? Seriously?

Who/what is a tweetie?

MovingAgainOhWhy · 02/04/2018 12:07

Just gonna leave this here

anotherangryvoice.blogspot.co.uk/2018/04/why-im-giving-up-on-jeremy-corbyn.html?spref=fb&m=1

IntelligentYetIndecisive · 02/04/2018 12:09

@Joanna57, read the full thread.

TweetiePie-some number was incredibly insulting to Teresa May.

Joanna57 · 02/04/2018 12:10

I am not 'smug' at all.

Just quietly sitting back and watching the labour party implode.

Every single time JC opens his mouth he guarantees another implosion.

Self destruction at its very best.

I don't agree with everything about TM, but I am not about to hang her either.

Mydoghatesthebath · 02/04/2018 12:11

joanna

Obviously we disagree on that but do you not think a strong opposition on any side is a good thing for a democracy?

Joanna57 · 02/04/2018 12:12

Theresa - it is Theresa.

Oh dear. Norty tweetie..

But obviously tweetie is a Labour supporter, so it is to be expected.

Heyduggeesflipflop · 02/04/2018 12:14

Why anyone would want to vote for the Labour Party now astonishes me. People mean about the ‘evil’ tories but it seems to me that the racism, intolerance and out of hand sixth form style politics is all sadly coming from the sainted Jc and his band of dysfunctional socialist policies.

At the last election they snared the young through a skilful online campaign - I strongly suspect that was the high water mark of this bunch. People aren’t stupid twice.

That said the conservatives need to halt their slide into governmental lethargy if this version of labour is the only alternative.

catgirl1976 · 02/04/2018 12:14

Totally agree

The complete disregard for women, the shambolic lack of response to Brexit (and the fact they a pro Brexit), the rise of the Momentum brown shirt, the anti antisemitism all mean I will not vote Labour as it currently exists. I have voted Labour practically all my life with the odd vote for Lib Dem but that is gone.

I could never vote tory and the Lib Dems are dreadful atm so I am politically homeless.

Joanna57 · 02/04/2018 12:14

Mydog

Yes, yes, yes I do.

I would respect a strong opposition, I really would.

We NEED a strong opposition. But that it is not JC and the Labour party as they are now.

NewYear2018 · 02/04/2018 12:17

Actually Joanna you do sound smug - very smug.
