Which is your favorite Season

and why.

My favorite Season is spring. DD was a spring baby so that's obviously a massive factor. Plus it's not too hot or too cold and all the cute baby animals are born. What's not to love.

Sat here watching the rain and wishing I could be out in the garden getting my borders ready. I definitely prefer warm dry days.

RoseWhiteTips · 02/04/2018 11:20

Autumn.

Mum2OneTeen · 02/04/2018 11:37

Any season other than summer: hot sweaty misery Angry

Sallystyle · 02/04/2018 11:42

Summer by far.

Love it.

LoniceraJaponica · 02/04/2018 12:39

Showofhands here in South Yorkshire we don't get the kind of summers you describe. You must live in the South of England or in or near London. And so must you Mum2.

I am desperate for some sun and some warmth (she says watching it rain over this morning's snow)

PumpkinPie2016 · 02/04/2018 12:46

Autumn - I love the colours and the nights starting to draw in. Nice, crisp days too!

I am a teacher so I also get the lovely back to school feeling.

scaryteacher · 02/04/2018 12:52

Spring because of all the flowers in the hedgerows, the daffs, snowdrops, primroses etc, and Autumn because of the colours, being outside but not too hot, the Victoria plums and not living off salad any more.

Roussette · 02/04/2018 12:56

Summer.

The hotter the better. Hopefully for weeks and weeks on end.

I know MN is full of summer haters though. find it hard to read threads of people moaning that they've had two hot days in a row

I blossom in summer, I sleep less, I have more energy, I go brown just by being alive in the summer, I look and feel so much better. I'm more sociable, I just come alive

Think I was born in the wrong country Grin

Unfinishedkitchen · 02/04/2018 13:04

Spring.

Getting slightly annoyed in anticipation of all of the threads complaining about summer in a few weeks after about 48 hours of sun. It’s been winter for about six months now. We deserve some sun and heat. Sick of it.

SadieHH · 02/04/2018 13:30

And it’s annoying to be constantly told in the summer that you absolutely must love it. Welcome to our world.

photographyaddict · 02/04/2018 13:34

Autumn - Pumpkin spice lattes and colourful trees Grin

LoniceraJaponica · 02/04/2018 14:25

"Autumn - I love the colours and the nights starting to draw in. Nice, crisp days too!"

Autumn where I live is damp, chilly and gloomy. We very rarely get crisp, sunny days. I would like autumn if that was my reality as well.

SadieHH I think it is because for many of us summer isn't hot and sticky. Also, the number of cold, damp days far outnumbers the warm sunny days that we would like to enjoy. Last summer we had one week, yes, just one week of hot weather. As soon as the schools broke up the weather went downhill.

Just being able to go outside without a coat would be nice for me just now.

This is what I woke up to this morning ^^

I always thought winter but on reflection late spring

Roussette · 02/04/2018 16:24

I quite understand that people get fed up with hot weather after a week or so, but last year on here posters were moaning that they were hot after one hot day!

Close the curtains, buy a fan, hibernate like I do in the winter!

I just love to be outdoors topping up my vitamin D Grin

willothewisp17 · 02/04/2018 16:26

winter all the way ❄️

pilates · 02/04/2018 16:29

I like something in all of them but if had to choose would be spring. Weather getting milder. Daffodils and snowdrops.

Katchit · 02/04/2018 16:34

Spring. This week. The long, early, rising tunes of the wren, the skylark and the blackbird. Outside my bedroom window. After the long winter, and this has been a long one, the nesting and mating birds are shrill with their deeds of longevity.

Then the quiet, balm, golden, drowsy, pulsating, rapturous afterglow of Autumn. Raspberries, stillness, droning bees, apples. That slight perspiration of the atmosphere. Like those minutes after passionate sex. Drunken, wanton, hungry still.

ShowOfHands · 02/04/2018 18:44

I lived in South Yorkshire for 4 years Lonicera. It was as hot and sticky there as where I live now.

LoniceraJaponica · 02/04/2018 18:48

We haven't had a hot summer here for 5 years Showofhands Sad

In reality our summers are cool, cloudy days interspersed with the odd few days of nice weather. This winter has gone on forever.

SerenDippitty · 02/04/2018 18:56

Late spring and early autumn are my favourite times.

UrgentScurryfunge · 02/04/2018 19:09

The one that isn't grey chilly and damp. Can't remember which one that is. Wink

It's been winter since the week the kids broke up last July Sad I am utterly done with this near constant damp greyness. I'm fed up of walking around like the Michelin Man wrapped up against biting winds. I'm fed up of craving hearty stodgy carbs to fend off the chill. I'm fed up of weeks passing by with barely a beam of sunshine.

I so need the glow of sunshine on my skin. Really, really need sunshine.

Real seasons are lovely. Crisp frosty winter days (sadly too rare). Fresh spring days with a gentle glow of sunshine. The warmth of summer when light clothing and sandals are enough. The soft light and colours of autumn. Sadly such seasons are a fleeting fantasy amongst British humidity and overcast conditions.

LoniceraJaponica · 02/04/2018 21:30

You have put that better than I did Urgent

I am craving warm sunshine

dayandnightshapes · 02/04/2018 21:43
