He has a longstanding interest in politics, has campaigned for the Labour party as long as I can remember (back to the late 90s) and has always been firmly pro European.

I suspect he's a lot more clever than he comes across. He does stage shows in four languages, so he's definitely smarter than most people I know.

Well I’m happy to see anything which weakens Momentum’s stranglehold on the NEC. Apparantly he’s temp until a summer vote.

TBF - a lot of politicians don't know much about how 'real people' live.

I do think his Question Time rant didn't help the Remain cause pre Brexit.

Glenda Jackson was a luvvy who didn't know much about real peoples' lives, if Eddie is a tenth as good as she was, we'll be doing well.
