Thats fine. We all live in a bubble of what we know. I have very little experience of what its like to live in the most deprived areas of the country.

If you think celebrities, film stars and performers are as in touch with the struggles to make ends meet, get good childcare, find a good school, get fair treatment at work, pay an unexpected bill as anyone else then you are clearly very much more of an optimist than I am. I'd need persuading. And I'm not saying anyone who went to Eton and has a private income is anymore in touch with it than Mr Izzard.

Lets get them to do the quiz. How much is a pint of milk? A loaf of bread? Unemployment benefit or the state pension?

I suspect he's a lot more clever than he comes across. He does stage shows in four languages, so he's definitely smarter than most people I know.

How is that relevant? His personal policies are not going to be influenced by how smart he is?

Politics in the UK is a rock and a hard place right now; I wouldn't vote Tory or Labour but where is the credible alternative?

Turnip You are not alone. There are a lot of us that feel politically homeless at the moment. You'd think that one of the parties would acknowlege that and try to appeal, but none of them will switch on the vote hoover until the next GE is announced.
