To wonder how much weight I can lose in 8 days?

I’ve gained a stone since Christmas. Dp has surprised me with a short break, lovely but in 8 days! All my nice clothes are rather tight how can I lose a few pounds in then, or can I?? I work a desk job 9-5 in a tiny office and can only commute by car which doesn’t help

Same issue! Watching with interest. Got two big meals out for easter which doesn't help.

You could probably lose 4 or 5lb
No alcohol
Very Low carb
Also depends on your weight currently.
And how many Easter eggs you scoff this weekend!

Water water water! No carbs like bread or potatoes/pasta.

Eat grapefruit and veggies - you'll easily lose 8/10lb

Keto - or ‘low carb high fat’ - you could lose a few pounds of mostly water weight. Bear in mind that once you eat carbs again it will go back on, particularly after such a short amount of time.

There is a medical diet I’ve seen linked to on mumsnet. I think it may be designed for quick weight loss before surgery or something? I’ll see if I can find it.

If you are serious, then basically 800-1000 calories per day- it won't be fun, you will be grumpy and hungry. Very few carbs, no booze, no sugar, no meat (maybe lean chicken). Something like
Breakfast: black coffee boiled egg, 1/2 grapefruit
Lunch : thick veg soup with lentils or beans, Apple (appetite suppressant)
Dinner: vegi Stir fry
Loads of water, loads of green tea/black coffee
Or alternatively slim fast for 8 days.

I lost 10lb on a 5 day juice detox - not fun but effective! Once I started eating normally again, I put 3lb back on and kept the remainder off

Cabbage soup diet. Devised for heart op patients fir rapid wait loss but not good for long term. Very strict but only 7 days good luck and have a good holiday.

Follow slimming world for a week and you will lose 7lbs easily.

Following with interest OP, I'm in a v similar position (same starting weight and everything!)

Have never in my life done a crash diet but am quite tempted to give it a try just this once...

Egg diet.

Just egg,fatty cheese and lots of black coffee. My stomach goes flat and I rediscover my waist within 4 days. It is a 5 day diet. For some reason, it seems to cause me to go to the toilet more, so maybe not unlike a mild norovirus, but rather effective for me.

Your clothes will fit so much better. You don't really go hungry, just lose appetite because there is only so much egg and cheese you want to eat.

I use it to reset my weight after I have had a period of indulgence.

I am prone to putting on half a stone or so over holidays and Christmas. I can lose it in a week if I stick strictly to Rosemary Connolly's GI Jeans diet kick start (out dated now but it works for me).

It's a bit of a challenge to stay with and even small deviations seem to ruin everything but it does work if you stick to it to the letter.

1,000 calories a day, zero carbs except veg, no fruit, absolutely no alcohol, watch your sodium intake, and lots of water. Dark green salad with hard boiled egg and an olive oil/balsamic dressing would be excellent for lunch and dinner. Also, start the day with lots of protein to keep your energy up.

I'm currently doing an egg fast. On day 3. It is very effective.

Plan to go back to low carb when I'm finished.

Also op you don't seem to have much to lose so your results will be proportionate to that.

Water x 3-4L a day
Cut all white carbs
Soup for 2 meals per day
Porridge/wholewheat toast for breakfast
Only snack on nuts/limited fruit

On the scales, a fair few pounds. To the eye, very little.
