To tell DH to V.I.Poo?

Just that, really.

Absolutely disgusting, I know. But hopefully if you're sensitive, the thread title made you steer clear.

DH is incredibly unpleasant on the loo and I think these things are fab (The V.I.Poo) sprays.

I even keep one in my handbag now.

I haven't actually asked him to use it every time.

AIBU? Yes I know this is his home too but as it's mine also, I don't want the loo unpleasant to be in Envy

I'm very clean and tidy but I think this may just be common curtesy now?

Sorry if it's not, I'm asking in AIBU because sometimes I don't know how reasonable my requests are!

Grin it's a real product?

Aprilmightmemynewname · 30/03/2018 10:28

Yanbu to not want to smell his shit.
He ibu to expect you to risk long term lung damage!!

GnotherGnu · 30/03/2018 10:32

YABU to fall for the advertising for a stupid and totally unnecessary product. Just tell him to open the windows.

TakeMeToTheFresh · 30/03/2018 10:35

It's a real product!

He does open windows and that does little to help

My mil has a stoma and vipoo spray has helped her get over the anxiety of emptying her bag so it has it's place.

Ok just tell your dh to open a window/spritz some airfreshener. I will never understand people who pussyfoot around their partners on simple matters like this.

Aprilmightmemynewname · 30/03/2018 10:42

Happy Easter dear I have bought you this !!

TakeMeToTheFresh · 30/03/2018 10:56

I've already bought it and it's in the loo.

DH doesn't always use it, in fact, only uses it if prompted.

He thinks it's all very Hmm

Just get him to open the window, the smell soon goes. You'll just have to 'give it ten'. My oh has a habit of stinking out the loo, then leaving the blinking door open so the odour escapes onto the landing. Delightful.
I think we are putting more than enough nasty chemicals into the environment without adding more like vip poo, or whatever it's called.

Singlebutmarried · 30/03/2018 12:20

A few matches struck after the deed will get rid of the smell.

My DH is so bad our DD thought the dog had crapped on the kitchen floor this morning.

Idontdowindows · 30/03/2018 12:27

Open the window and if that's not good enough, put in an extractor fan.

All this unnecessary praying of stuff, blergh.

Shoxfordian · 30/03/2018 12:41

Yanbu

We have a room spray; its mandatory after a poo.
Start telling not asking.

mimibunz · 30/03/2018 12:43

I love V.I.Poo! We use it in our house.

Rednailsandnaeknickers · 30/03/2018 12:53

More fibre - green veg - in his diet to keep things moving along? When I was low carbing I had almost odourless neat little poos. Add white carbs back in and it's definitely not as pleasant!
We really don't need yet more toxic chemical products going into our water system and affecting marine life at the other end. Some people seem to think "sewage works" are some magic cleaning factory that removes everything bad so it's back to crystal clear. Nope they take the solid shit out, that's it. All that other stuff like bleach etc goes out into the sea, polluting it. I don't imagine the fish dolphins, all the eco systems, appreciate being VIPood.

Time40 · 30/03/2018 13:01

If it smells so terribly bad, I think that could be an indication that there is something wrong with his health.

steff13 · 30/03/2018 13:03

I make my own. It's water, glycerin, and essential oils. No nasty chemicals, just regular ones.

Llanali · 30/03/2018 14:23

YANBU to not want to smell it.
YABU to add chemicals where they aren’t needed.
As above, box of matches in the loo! Or a lighter?

8SaltandVinegar · 30/03/2018 14:26

I've seen the ad. But does it actually work? Mens number 2's are always vile and can't imagine a puff of spray would get rid of it. What's the ingredients?

TheMaddHugger · 30/03/2018 14:29

Does he take your Daughter to Therapy on Fridays and does he wear Lycra bike clothing ?

Slightlyperturbedowlagain · 30/03/2018 14:31

Unfortunately our downstairs loo is right next to the front door which is extremely unpleasant too Sad

I have Ulcerative Colitis, this product saves a great deal of humiliation for suffers of the above and Crohns disease when having to use public facilities. Perhaps a little forethought about the feelings of others, rather than being quite so dismissive would be kinder.

GnotherGnu · 30/03/2018 15:15

Ingredients:
Water
PEG Hydrogenated Castor Oil - Cosmetic
Propylene Glycol - Solvent
Citric Acid Monohydrate - Complexing/sequestering agent
Sodium Benzoate - Preservative
Sodium Citrate dihydrate - Complexing/sequestering agent
Coumarin - Fragrance Component
Hydroxyisohexyl 3-Cyclohexene Carboxaldehyde - Fragrance component
Citral - Fragrance component
Acrylates/PEG-10Maleate/Styrene Copolymer

Thanks so much for putting all that lot into the water system.

DSHathawayGivesMeFannyGallops · 30/03/2018 15:19

YANBU. When I was at uni we had air freshener in the loo. One of my housemates had anosmia and had no idea WHY we'd have that. It had to be very gently explained to her that poo smells.... and actually she really did need to use it. She was embarrassed and upset that we hadn't told her sooner.

LayerShortOfALasagne · 30/03/2018 15:20

@TheMadHugger 😂

DragonsAndCakes · 30/03/2018 15:23

Don’t most shampoos and soaps have that sort of thing in though?

Queenio24 · 30/03/2018 15:29

TheMadHugger 😂
I thought about this too !
Can't help but feel a bit sorry for the bloke before Being harassed about having a shit (which we all do).
