Aibu to ask about your 30th birthdays?
Im going on a big holiday which were saying is for my 30th but that's not for 5 months after due to the event i want to see (without being too outting!)
But im wanting to still make my 30th special as i had a miserable 21st and 18th. Wondering whether you had any special gifts etc? I have a spare few hundred coming around that time so considering a special item of jewllery or something.
So if you wouldn't mind please share your 30ths

DH and I went away for the weekend. He'd bought me a nice piece of jewellery and booked me tickets for something I love to attend while we were away.

DH and I went away for the weekend with my parents to the races, and to see Madness perform after the race meeting. It was ace.

I was working in London (200 miles from home). There was a tube strike and two friends who lived at opposite ends of London walked to meet me and we sat in Hyde Park drinking Champagne then went to the Chicago Rib Shack in Knightsbridge for dinner. I have a photo of the occasion on the fridge and I cannot believe how young and gorgeous I was.

DH and I were travelling together and were in Nepal. We took a dawn flight around the summit of Everest, then had a massage in Kathmandu and spent the afternoon in the Garden of Dreams, then the group we'd been trekking with took me out to dinner. Was pretty amazing, very much a once in a lifetime thing though.

Spent mine on a Harley in Western Australia, then went out for dinner with Aussie family.

I has planned to go out for a meal with dh. Nothing big or fancy . Ds was about 14 mths old.
He forgot about my birthday and swapped his work , so instead of being home , he was at work . He’s never forgotten a birthday since😂

DD was a month old and we went to our local Italian for pizza. I did get a nice piece of jewelry though - my engagement ring!

Jewelry sounds nice-as does your holiday. Is there anything local to you around the weekend of your 30th? Or a restaurant that you've wanted to try etc?

I had a bailiff banging my door down on my 30th birthday! Actually due to an error made by the local council tax dept, so I owed nothing at all, they owed me money. But my ex refused to listen to my explanation and yelled at me for being incompetent and untrustworthy all morning. When I finally stopped crying we went out for the 'nice lunch' we'd planned then went shopping for something I wanted for my present. When we got home that evening we had a row as I wasn't in the mood (quelle surprise) and I went to bed early, crying again.

Would love to say my 40th was better, but I was in the midst of a 6 week bout of gastroenteritis caused by campylobacter. I couldn't keep anything down or in my stomach and just lay on the sofa all day in agony. My kids were so disappointed they couldn't go to the nice Indian meal I'd booked, so I let them go anyway - my ex and his new wife went in place of me! I can laugh now...

Not planning anything for my 50th in a few years [ grin]

Mine is on weds, nothing massive planned, just a nice stroll around the designer outlet with my mum then a pub lunch somewhere. As for pressies I am mostly getting cash from family to spend on a holiday we have booked next month.

Did jack shit and was thrilled about it! Actually did go out for lunch at pizza express but that was it. Ate chocolate and cake at home.

I am not one who likes to be the centre of attention and much prefer a quiet day.

@Roomba bloody hell! However I was pleased to see 'ex' for your 40th so that's better!
