They have run out of milk chocolate eggs. The bog standard ones they personalise. Seriously. I'm so annoyed at how shit they are.

There are 3 people in my family that will be very disappointed. You just don't expect a (massively overrated) chocolate shop to run out of chocolate!!!!!!! Can they not just MAKE SOME MORE?????!

I have one spare! Every year my DD gets given one and she can’t stand milk chocolate (she only likes dark) . I don’t have the heart to tell the lovely people who give it to her. She waits a few months and tries to use it up in cooking, so it is not a total waste.

Pinkvoid · 30/03/2018 19:28

My local Morrisons is completely out of eggs today. Well, they had a few vegan ones left Grin.

It’s too late really. Much like leaving it till the day before Halloween to get a pumpkin, probably not going to happen.

BlondeB83 · 30/03/2018 19:34

You snooze, you lose.

MorriBuntz25 · 30/03/2018 20:27

There's people starving in the world, living on the streets, going to food banks and countries being ravaged by war. I don't think this is a problem that should get anyone this stressed. I'm sure your little ones will get over it. It's only a chocolate egg. Maybe next year be more organised and shop earlier. Don't sweat the small stuff please..life is way to short x

dirennie · 30/03/2018 20:41

Totally agree. I ordered my eggs online a fortnight ago, and have had no communication from Thorntons at all. I went out today and bought two bog standard eggs for my grandchildren, as replacements, so no problem really, they'll be fine, but I will never trust Thorntons again. Such bad customer service.

Hmm so why are you wasting time on such a petty thread then?

Happygummibear · 30/03/2018 22:14

Not sure if it has been mentioned but from your description these sound like the eggs they give away to o2 customers.. so that may account for some of the shortage

Also yabu..... perhaps read the Easter story to your children instead

JanKind · 30/03/2018 22:51

Get over yourself and go to the shops and buy them from somewhere else

manicmij · 31/03/2018 00:40

You have to end of shopping hours Saturday to get and egg. Perhaps Thorntons will have more stock in for the latecomers. Eggs aren't given until Easter Sunday so some time to sort out yet.

RunLillian88 · 31/03/2018 02:15

david that’s quite some tower you’re sat in! Also the eggs are £6, I think your standard Tesco egg is £5.

And what is so horrid about a women buying eggs for the kids to honour a tradition started by a dearly missed family member?

How judgmental can one get?!

Ineke · 31/03/2018 04:17

I needed to find vegetarian, vegan and gluten free Easter eggs. ..Found some on line and paid £9.50 for a medium sized egg. Next day, went to Waitrose, saw the same eggs and more variety for £4.00! Furious. Thought that I would send it back but item was Nonreturnable. Don't recommend buying your eggs on line.

Ineke · 31/03/2018 04:27

Ah Chocolate! Have discovered Monty Bojangles, best chocolate I have tasted, but no eggs.

MorriBuntz25 · 31/03/2018 07:29

Well.....she asked for opinions. What's your reason for following this petty thread and commenting on my comment with your funny cross face 😉😙

BessMarvin · 31/03/2018 08:05

Ineke I thought I saw Monty bojangles eggs when doing online Sainsbury's earlier.

TwoDogs9 · 31/03/2018 08:07

If they’re shit and overrated why are you bothered? Confused

Needingsomeadvice · 31/03/2018 09:08

I have a Monty Bojangles egg Ineke! From Sainsburys. Lost my nerve and went back for a Thorntons one. Are you telling me the MB will better?

longestlurkerever · 31/03/2018 10:11

Monty bojangles does fab truffles etc. Go-to-gift for dh.

OhWhatFuckeryIsThisNow · 31/03/2018 15:26

Sainsburys had loads today. I got two monty b ones for ds and a Lindt one for dd. The minty b ones were three quid.

marymoosmum · 31/03/2018 15:50

They only make chocolate eggs for a set period of time, it costs them money to make them? They would assume that people had bought them all by now, most shops are sold out of Easter eggs by this point. YABU they don't just magic them up, do you really want them to fire everything up on a bank holiday weekend just for you? They don't make them onsite you know. Hmm

Ineke · 31/03/2018 17:09

Needingsomeadvicw OMG OMG, Monty BoJangles eggs!! Yes they will be better, truly delicious chocolate. I am off to Sainsbury's now..... 😊

Piccolino2 · 31/03/2018 18:20

Argh, as a result of this thread I just had to go to Sainsbury's to get some Monty Bojangles eggs. I hope they're good!!

Nothing wrong with this, but if it's that important OP needed to plan ahead.
