For me, the Parkland children being belittled and abused in so many ways is utterly heartbreaking to witness. But they have been more adult than the adults in their response. They have shown us what faith means, and bravery. POTUS? He is made much, much smaller.

Inside the White House Bible Study group
www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-43534724

For the first time in at least 100 years, the US Cabinet has a bible study group. What do they learn? What does Donald Trump make of it? And why aren't women allowed to teach?
[...]
Trump started appointing to his cabinet all the guys that were in our House and Senate bible study," says Drollinger, a trend he attributes to Vice-President Mike Pence, who "knew who those strong believers were".

Southern hospitality.

www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/georgia-harris-county-mike-jolley-sheriff-warning-america-news-latest-a8294531.html

'"Welcome to Harris County, Georgia," it reads, sarcastically, adding: "Our citizens have concealed weapons. If you kill someone, we might kill you back. We have ONE jail and 356 cemeteries. Enjoy your stay! -Sheriff Mike Jolley."'

No doubt its already been flagged on the threads, but the US tourism slump was widely covered in January. Here’s one example: www.nbcnews.com/business/travel/tourism-u-s-down-trump-took-office-costing-4-6-n840326

A blast from the past.

Remember claig's favourite youtubers?

"Facebook determined their content –primarily videos — is “unsafe to the community,”"

They did not like it. At all.

Taking a cue from Trump, the Russian government is dismissing reports of the chemical attack in Syria as "fake news"

Lweji oh yes Claig used to love these two idiots. I loved this from the article....
'he two, dubbed by MSNBC host Joy Reid as “Cubic Zirconia and Rayon,” (real names Lynnette “Diamond” Hardaway and Rochelle “Silk” Richardson),'
Grin

The images from Syria were horrible to see, little children attacked with nerve gas, there's been a missile attack on an airbase in Syria but US denying all knowledge.
edition.cnn.com/2018/04/08/middleeast/syria-missile-strike-intl/index.html

Lweji · 09/04/2018 07:37

I haven't seen the images of the gas attack and I'm not sure I want to.
It's a disgrace that it happened and even worse the US President's reaction to it.
Clearly, someone feels comfortable enough to do it. Is this the retaliation and show of force to the expulsion of "diplomats" and sanctions?

We haven't been at war with Russia... But Russia has been at war with us, for quite some time.

That's what key members of their leadership think. Remember when their mercenaries attacked our troops in Syria, thinking we would withdraw? That didn't even happen during Cold War I.

  1. We spend a lot of time investigating the Trump administration but look at what's happening right out in the open

thinkprogress.org/the-kushners-mysterious-1-2-billion-bailout-92f6c12de50c/

  1. Kushner's investment in 666 5th Avenue is an unmitigated disaster. The building is outdated, vacancy rates are high and it's hemorrhaging money.

There is a $1.2 billion mortgage due in full in February 2019.

  1. Kushner and his family have been going hat in hand around the world to try to get the $1 billion+ needed to rescue their investment.

They've tried China, the Qataris. There have been rumblings about others. And they've had no luck.

But wait!

  1. On Friday, we learned the Kushner's have found a $1.2 billion white knight.

Who is providing this money.

We have no idea.

A senior advisor to the president is personally benefiting from a $1.2 billion investment and we have absolutely no details.

  1. This is EXACTLY why top government officials are expected to divest their assets. Jared did not do this in a meaningful way and here we are
  1. Jared can't get a security clearance, and it might be tied to his financial entanglements. His efforts to secure financing for 666 5th Avenue has already attracted the attention of Mueller.

And yet, the beat goes on.

Here is the renewed motion we just filed seeking to depose Mr. Trump and Mr. Cohen, as well as an expedited jury trial. #searchforthetruth #basta

@renato_mariotti
1/ Stormy Daniels' attorney moves for discovery, including a deposition of Trump, now that the procedural issue has been resolved. He cites Trump and Cohen's statements that Trump didn't know about the contract with Daniels, which undercut their motion to force arbitration.
2/ In the contract, Daniels agreed to arbitrate in exchange for promises by Trump. If Trump didn't know about the contract, he couldn't have made those promises, and there was no arbitration agreement. It's hard to see how the agreement to arbitrate holds up.
3/ It's also hard to see how Trump avoids a deposition. He could submit an affidavit saying he doesn't know anything about this entire matter to try to avoid a deposition, which would give Daniels a victory in the first count of her suit (to invalidate her NDA with Trump).
4/ That would still leave a count against Cohen for defamation, which could still result in a deposition of Trump further down the line. In the meantime, Daniels' attorney is now suggesting that Cohen's and Trump's denials that Trump knew about the agreement are hard to believe.
5/ That would seem to hurt Daniels' position as to her main count (invalidating the NDA), since Trump's lack of knowledge undercuts the agreement. But it's smart lawyering because he wants a reason to depose Trump soon. That gives him leverage over Trump and Cohen. /end

Amid pressure from Trump, Sessions and Wray asked Chicago's US attorney to help speed their response to Republican demands for more than a million documents related to the Clinton email probe:

This is so bizarre. US attorneys sometimes get assigned special investigations outside their jurisdictions, but document production? That’s a core Main Justice in DC function. Makes no sense.
