For me, the Parkland children being belittled and abused in so many ways is utterly heartbreaking to witness. But they have been more adult than the adults in their response. They have shown us what faith means, and bravery. POTUS? He is made much, much smaller.

BIG news. HUGE news. Facebook suspends AggregateIQ. The data firm Vote Leave spent £2.9 million with. VL's chief strategist Dom Cummings: "We couldn't have done it without them."

www.nationalobserver.com/2018/04/06/news/exclusive-facebook-suspends-canadian-tech-firm-aggregateiq-over-data-scandal

This really is massive. AIQ is right at the very heart of Brexit. It was used by four different campaigns: Vote Leave, BeLeave, Veterans for Britain & the DUP.

...and it's already at the centre of another scandal. If you haven't already, please read @shahmiruk's story of how Vote Leave used BeLeave as an overspending vehicle. He showed such bravery coming forward. And has been treated by govt with such contempt

Well, Trump has finally imperiled the golden goose: evangelical leaders are concerned his sex-scandal and divisive rhetoric could suppress voter turnout...so they're meeting at the Trump Hotel DC.

The people who need more “extreme vetting” aren’t immigrants, they’re Trump’s Cabinet members

The problem isn't that Trump didn't vet his cabinet -- it's that they're following his lead. If he doesn't care about ethics or propriety, they won't either. Plus, the chaotic and depleted WH staff couldn't/wouldn't impose discipline. So these scandals are no surprise.

Why weren't Obama officials trying to feather their nests? I'd like to think it's because we were better people -- but I'm sure much had to do with the tone set by the top, and the WH watching like a hawk, with folks like @NormEisen and @ChrisLu44 prepared to crack a whip.

David Shulkin was first appointed by Obama, then promoted by Trump. He avoided ethical scandals under Obama, and he didn't suddenly become a bad person under Trump. Rather, the new boss didn't seem to care about ethics, so Shulkin figured ¯\(ツ)/¯.

This is kinda cool. It probably wouldn’t have been that hard to predict how things might turn out given Trump’s rants, but with the actual date and the ‘trade war’ - Shock

In response to Nunes asking to see Trump-Russia doc and DOJ's refusal.

Reading this closely it appears they are going to give Nunes an “in camera” peak at this material. BIG MISTAKE. He will abuse what he claims he saw. A man NOT TO BE TRUSTED.

South Carolina Rep. Ralph Norman draws gun, says 'I'm not going to be a Gabby Giffords'

To make a point that guns are dangerous only in the hands of criminals, a South Carolina congressman on Friday pulled out a loaded handgun during a meeting with constituents.

U.S. Rep. Ralph Norman, a Republican, reportedly placed the .38-caliber gun on a table during the "coffee with constituents" meeting at a Rock Hill restaurant.

"I'm not going to be a Gabby Giffords," Norman said, referring to the former Arizona congresswoman who was shot outside a grocery store during a 2011 constituent gathering.

In a follow-up statement, Giffords' husband, retired NASA astronaut Mark Kelly, criticized Norman’s stunt.

"Americans are increasingly faced with a stark choice: leaders like Gabby, who work hard together to find solutions to problems, or extremists like the NRA and Congressman Norman, who rely on intimidation tactics and perpetuating fear," Kelly said.

Norman, who reportedly holds a state-issued concealed-carry gun permit, said he'll display his gun at future constituent meetings.

"I'm tired of these liberals jumping on the guns themselves as if they are the cause of the problem," Norman told the Post and Courier. "Guns are not the problem."

Norman's point about gun safety drew support from Republicans in the state, the newspaper reported.

"Hysterical to see liberals freak out over @RalphNorman accurately demonstrating that guns really are inanimate objects," state GOP Chairman Drew McKissick tweeted.

But some meeting attendees had a different view.

" ... (H)he chose to take the gun out and put it on the table not knowing if any of us had mental health issues," said Lori Carter, a schoolteacher from Charlotte, N.C., told the newspaper. "What was to prevent me from leaning across the table to take that gun?

"I felt it was highly inappropriate for an elected official, honestly, and it almost felt like an intimidation tactic," Carter added.

Meanwhile, South Carolina Democratic Party chairman Trav Robertson criticized Norman's action, saying "no responsible gun owner" would do such a thing.

Trump Organization’s Web Store Collects Sales Tax in Only Two States

The Trump administration is pushing for online retailers to pay more in state and local taxes. One retailer that could be affected by a stricter tax policy: the online store of the Trump Organization, which collects sales tax from consumers in only two states.

The TrumpStore.com website, which sells $100 polo shirts, baseball caps, spa teddy bears and other Trump-branded merchandise, collects sales tax on orders shipped to addresses in Florida and Louisiana, according to the company’s website.

The site, which describes itself as the official retail website of the Trump Organization, doesn’t collect sales taxes from New York residents. The TrumpStore.com website invites shoppers to “visit our brand new Trump Tower flagship retail store” in New York City.

If Pruitt is the trial balloon, this makes sense.

www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/us-politics/donald-trump-epa-chief-scott-pruitt-jeff-sessions-environmental-protection-a8292686.html

'Donald Trump has doubled down on his defence of Scott Pruitt, saying the chief of the Environmental Protection Agency is “doing a great job but is TOTALLY under siege”.

Mr Pruitt has been under mounting scrutiny in recent weeks, with the EPA administrator facing a growing number of negative headlines, leading many to wonder whether his stint as head of the EPA may soon be over.

But reports have also suggested that Mr Trump was floating the idea as recently as this week of replacing Attorney General Jeff Sessions with Mr Pruitt, despite all the scandals.'

I really don't think he could fire Jefferson Beauregard - without comeback. Mary would be so darned noble and forgiving that nobody would be able to bear it. Mother would likely be most upset.

edition.cnn.com/2018/04/06/politics/joseph-schmitz-trump-adviser-clinton-emails/index.html

(CNN)-- 'A Donald Trump foreign policy adviser pushed government agencies to review materials from the dark web in the summer of 2016 that he thought were Hillary Clinton's deleted emails, multiple sources with direct knowledge tell CNN.

Joseph Schmitz approached the FBI and other government agencies about material a client of his had discovered that Schmitz believed might have been Clinton's missing 30,000 emails from her private e-mail server, sources say. The material was never verified, and sources say they ultimately believed it was fake.

His push is the latest example of Trump advisers who were mixed up in efforts to find dirt on Clinton during the presidential campaign. Schmitz was one of the first people Trump named to his campaign's national security and foreign policy team. The team, showcased in a March 2016 photo, was thrown together early in Trump's successful run as he faced mounting pressure to prove his ability to pull in high-level advisers who could help prepare him for the White House.'

The first thing he tells me is that he has just had $25,000 worth of AirSculpt on his abdomen, to make it smaller, because being fat is his worst fear. 'President Trump has a long enemies list, but Jeff Bezos has now shot up to number two, right behind Robert Mueller. Over the past week, the president unleashed a Twitter rant against Bezos and his company, Amazon, and threatened to use the federal government to punish him — thereby causing the company's stock to plunge 8 percent and lose $75 billion in market value. Trump, aides say, is "obsessed" with Amazon and Bezos — largely because Bezos also owns The Washington Post, which has covered this administration aggressively. "How can I f--- with him?" the president has asked aides, sources tell Vanity Fair. The options under discussion include an anti-trust action, raising postal rates, and the cancellation of Amazon's multibillion-dollar Pentagon contract. "It's war," White House sources warn.'

nymag.com/daily/intelligencer/2018/04/frank-rich-trump-only-knows-chaos.html?utm_campaign=nym&utm_source=tw&utm_medium=s1

'It is a mistake to assume there is any method whatsoever to Donald Trump’s current madness. I don’t think his chaotic serial upheavals in the arena of foreign policy constitute a strategy to distract from, say, the Scott Pruitt scandals or the Mueller investigation or Stormy Daniels. Sometimes chaos is just chaos. What we are seeing now, as many have noted, is Trump unleashed — liberated at last to be a full-time rabid animal barking morning, noon, and night now that all the White House adults who were supposed to curb him have fled. Or all except John Kelly, now sidelined and castrated, and James Mattis, whose powers as a Trump minder may have been as oversold by the press as those of Kelly, Rex Tillerson, Gary Cohn, and H.R. McMaster were before him.'
