I got into a habit of using my mac and at £23 a bottle i can't afford to use it everyday! What foundations do you use?

Avon are pretty good - I get compliments about my skin when I use The Anew Age Transforming Foundation. Think it was about £8

LightDrizzle · 28/03/2018 19:50

I’m using a NARS one.its good but isn’t blowing my mind. I think I’m looking for magic!

BillyAndTheSillies · 28/03/2018 19:55

Either bobbi brown foundation stick or Fenty. Fenty has been the best match to my skin I've ever used (mixed race, very yellow toned) and goes on beautifully.

Drainedandconfused · 28/03/2018 20:03

No 7 Stay Perfect in Warm Sand, I've been using it for years after spending a fortune looking for a yellow rather than pink toned foundation. It's perfect for olive skin in winter.
In the summer I use No 7 Stay Perfect in Deeply Honey, its great for tanned skin without being orange.

MrsMaxwell · 28/03/2018 20:04

Estée Lauder Double Wear - it’s £32 Blush

Lonelystarbuckslover · 28/03/2018 20:05

Armani Power Fabric. Love it so so much.

SerenDippitty · 28/03/2018 20:07

No7 Lift & Luminate, £18.

hushnowthanks · 28/03/2018 20:10

I use Estée Lauder DW or Urban Decay All Nighter for spesh.

However, Milani Conceal and Perfect is an amazing dupe for both of these. It has great coverage, a good range of colours and is a bargain at £10 a bottle.

I like to kind of collect make up as a hobby. I love trying new products etc both high end and 'drug store' (really don't like that term for some reason 😬). I always end up going back to Rimmel for everyday use. All of their foundations are pretty spot on with a good shade selection (I'm VERY pale so it's hard for me sometimes to find the right shade). At the moment I'm using a mixture of Wake Me Up and Match Perfection foundations. Both decent coverage with the Wake Me Up adding a night dewy glow 😊

Kaz2200 · 28/03/2018 20:35

Qvc have an offer on The Ordinary, 2 foundations, hyloronic acid and the primer for £18.50 a bargain, and you can use and return if you don't like it or wrong colour.

midnightmisssuki · 28/03/2018 21:15

I use a lot of different ones:

Charlotte Tilbury
EX1
Estee Lauder DW

I’ve just got a sample of Guerlain’s new one I’ll try tomorrow :)

Foxyloxy1plus1 · 28/03/2018 21:40

Nars. Expensive, but you only use a tiny bit. I’ll look at the Ordinary when it’s coming to an end though.

NutElla5x · 28/03/2018 21:43

None.I like the natural fresh faced look.

I think of hobbies as things you do like cycling, bee keeping, knitting, sky diving, swimming, walking, reading, painting, running marathons, archery, darts, bowls. Collecting make up??????????

joystir59 · 28/03/2018 22:38

What's wrong with clean skin, perhaps moisturised if need be?

rainbowcakes · 28/03/2018 22:40

I use a loreal infallible foundation for every day and estee lauder double wear for nights out.

Re double wear looking cakey/dry - if you apply it with a damp beauty blender it goes on like a dream. Looks so flawless and smooth.

This is after first trying it 7 years ago and hating it, then giving it another go a few months ago because so many people rave about it! Finally been converted and it's my favourite foundation Smile

Also, judging people who wear makeup.

TansyViolet · 28/03/2018 22:44

No 7 BB cream for dry/very dry skin works well for my dry, allergic skin

SistersOfPercy · 28/03/2018 22:44

Also kat von D. Tis witchcraft that stuff. Absolutely amazing and in a pale enough shade of dead to match my skin tone.

ChocolateAddict93 · 28/03/2018 22:56

I vary day to day between MAC, Tarte Shape Tape and a L’Oréal one....depending on where I'm going! For work/day to day use I tend to use the cheapest Grin but I love all 3!

DSHathawayGivesMeFannyGallops · 28/03/2018 22:57

I have very thirsty skin and Estee Lauder Double Wear is the only thing that seems to reliably stay put despite me putting lots of oil, serum or base under my foundation. A bottle lasts me maybe 4-5 months. Before that I used Dior Foreverskin, also lovely but didn't totally withstand the pull of my arid desert wasteland thirsty skin, bottle would probably last 5-6 months though.

I do love Guerlain foundation too and I always ask for samples so I have some to mix with dior powder for when I don't need a full face to last me all day. I'm thinking about actually getting a bottle though. Guerlain make up is really complexion enhancing!

Luckingfovely · 28/03/2018 23:04

Re earlier question on EL DW - I'm quite sure it would be dreadful if you put straight on to dry skin. But firstly moisturised skin, then some form of illuminating primer/BB cream, and it's both slightly glowy AND lasts all day.

kitnkaboodle · 28/03/2018 23:05

Another vote for Rimmel - fab stuff!

Luckingfovely · 28/03/2018 23:06

Oooh but in other news - if anyone has considered Beauty Pie - I have samples of their foundation on my dressing table, and first try looks pretty damn impressive.

Trumpdump · 28/03/2018 23:07

Which Primark foundation is the EL double wear dupe? Anyone got a name or photo?
