I've had a major diet overhaul, I'm trying to change how I think about myself and food & I'm working out 7 times a week, getting up at 5:30 & then going again after work twice/3 times a week.
The end of this week will make it a month but so far I've only lost around 10lbs- which is yet to show physically.
I thought the complete 180 in my lifestyle would bring about drastic results.

I know I have to be consistent but It's getting me down just a little bit and I'm finding myself googling or youtubing weight loss tips at every chance!

To those who have gone through the weight loss process how long did it take you before you saw tangible results?

I'm 5'2 & starting weight was around 210lbs fyi

Roundtumble
Enjoy bodyPump
keep your weight lighter than you'd think the first time as after the full 800 reps of the class you'll hurt tomorrow Grin

Roundtumble · 30/03/2018 14:40

Haha, thanks for the advice TalkinPeece.
I can feel a sweat coming on already. Oh gosh

Enjoy Body Pump. Beware, some find it addictive. I like it so much I became an instructor. 😆

TalkinPeece · 30/03/2018 17:56

I used to be addicted to Pump but now BodyBalance is my thing - three times a week given the chance !

ChocOrCheese · 31/03/2018 16:49

It took me a year to lose three stone. I started eating sensibly, tracking food intake to ensure calories out are more than calories in and training 6 or 7 days a week for one hour, but training hard and doing high intensity stuff like kettlebells. I have lost much more size-wise than the three stone itself would attest to, because my bodyfat percentage has dropped a lot (46% to 33%) and my muscle has increased. Definitely measure yourself. If you have access to body fat monitor scales that might help you see just how much progress you are making if the weight loss is not to your satisfaction. I do have to say that 10lb in a month is a good rate to be losing at and any more is going to be totally unsustainable in the long term.

Remember that you have to eat enough to sustain your heavy exercise program, and eat right.

Well done and good luck in the ongoing endeavour.

Roundtumble · 31/03/2018 19:44

Thanks ChocorCheese :) Well done on the weight loss/new found fitness
There's one at the gym. I'm going to start measuring everything tomorrow.

Wow waterlego, good on you!
I'll definitely be back for more body pump next week.

Hey guys so I said I'd come back with my results. From the 5th march to 1 April (today) I have apparently lost a total of 15.873lbs/7.2kg.
I weighed myself at the gym and was in complete shock. I said no way, let me check on a different set of scales. Same thing. Nope can't be right! I'll go home and check on mine & again the same thing.
I feel a sense of achievement but the huge downer is that my before/after pics look exactly the same. I don't understand. I thought I was seeing a little difference but nope, just wishful thinking.

Well done.
Over a stone in weight lost.
Don't be disappointed with how you look.
How you feel matters more.
Now the 1st stone is off you will start to see it a bit more.
Massive well done.
Keep it up.

Roundtumble · 01/04/2018 17:49

Thanks Melons :)

OP, you may feel you look the same but I can guarantee others won't. Keep going 👍

QuimReaper · 02/04/2018 10:07

OP that's a stupendous achievement, well done! The lighter you get, the more of a % of your overall weight a stone will represent. I don't know what you're built like or anything but I think sometimes it can take a while to show because a stone doesn't represent a huge inch loss at your waist, but things will start to happen very quickly in the inch department.

Serialweightwatcher · 02/04/2018 11:10

Wow Roundtumble that's amazing - keep doing what you're doing but make sure you enjoy it too, that's the key to making it easier. Keep swapping bits around (I've had times when I ate the same thing over and over because it saved me thinking about it, but then got so boring I went ott on rubbish) - you're a Star

Roundtumble · 02/04/2018 11:30

Thanks guys, you're encouragement really warms me.
I felt like giving up just a little bit when I couldn't see a difference in pictures but had a talk with an amazing trainer at my gym- she's so uplifting, & told me like you guys to just keep going! Transformations don't happen overnight.
Yh Quim, I'm trying not to fall into eating the same thing day in day out!

Fantastic achievement Roundtumble. Good for you.

Pictures are fickle things until you have lost a huge chunk of weight, I think. By which I mean at least two dress sizes. Hang in there.

Roundtumble · 02/04/2018 22:26

Thanks Choc :) No turning back now!

Hats off to you OP for your weightloss.

I am a BodyPump and Balance fan, and think they complement each other, and cardio.

Wellthisunexpected · 21/05/2018 21:33

@Roundtumble how's it going?

Roundtumble · 23/05/2018 10:24

MORNING guys
Thank you @Loopytiles. Never tried balance before but body pump is great.

@Wellthisunexpected Thanks for checking in. It's going well thanks, I've had a few bumps in the road but I've stuck to it which is the main thing. Before I would have given up entirely if I deviated from the plan.
I've lost an additional 10lbs since I last updated on here, taking my weight loss to 26lbs & I am definitely beginning to see changes. I was quite disappointed at only losing 10lbs since my first weigh in as I lost so much in the first month but I realise it's a slow and steady race if I want to keep it up and keep it off.
I'm going on holiday in October so I've got a real goal to work towards although it is still a life style change and I plan to make this a part of every day life.

OP posts:
Wellthisunexpected · 23/05/2018 10:55

Excellent roundtumble slow and steady wins the race.

I've started running and made some small changes to my diet. I can't see a difference and the scales haven't moved, but people are commenting that I look slimmer and that my shape is changing so I think it must be happening...can take us a long time to realise things ourselves!

Loopytiles · 23/05/2018 11:12

Still on track, good for you!

Fortysix · 23/05/2018 11:30

I think there is a lot to be said for maintaining that amount of daily exercise.
Personally I'd keep it up.
When you are busy going out and about training you are miles away from the fridge and the biscuit tin and developing new habits.
