Regarding the use of the dc in insta, I was actually thinking it might go in their favour rather than against. Let's face it, they (for sake of argument I will say MODFOD because I only really know them and MP) are White, MC, aesthetically very pleasing on 'the squares', obviously featuring quite prolifically in beautiful, luxurious backgrounds so I would have thought that this would have been cause for nepotism in later life. Everyone is well aware of their names too. In 20 years time I can imagine an Ottillee/Delilah Hooper turning up for an interview and the panel being more than curious to spend a bit extra time with the candidate in front of them who they watched being dangled/chased/wrestled by their father years before.

I will be very interested to see if CB gets the Disney holiday.

ISaidIWasTired · 29/03/2018 20:03

Bit wired this constant discussion about their kids school fees?! Hmm

Fruitbowl2 · 29/03/2018 20:04

Mumofkids don't speak too soon, Easter holidays are only just starting for Londoners, you might yet see a swathe of #destinology holiday posts!

IsThisAWindUp · 29/03/2018 20:07

I think most people said they don’t give a toss about the school fees! Weird that people keep bringing up when no one is interested Hmm

Stellastartsitall · 29/03/2018 20:10

Allergy keeps stirring up the pot. Why are you so heavily invested in defending them? I don't agree with personal insults against them. But they made themselves public, Roll with the punches...... And I'm sure all those getaways are compensation enough.

Fruitbowl2 · 29/03/2018 20:14

Allergy seems awfully invested in MOFOD. More than those of us who don't think they're brilliant.

Fruitbowl I think you seem most invested - your comments verge on being obsessed it's really quite odd.

Fruitbowl2 · 29/03/2018 20:19

Hands up, I don't really 'like' any of them in an IG context, although CB and MP have made me laugh, but as Scipio (sort of said) MOFOD are the best loft conversion example!

IsThisAWindUp · 29/03/2018 20:21

Why do I get the feeling the thread is about to go pear shaped again all of a sudden?

Stellastartsitall · 29/03/2018 20:23

Yep me too.... Guess where it started Hmm

Collywobbles1984 · 29/03/2018 20:24

Was just about to jump in and sound the derailment alarm myself!

Mumofkids · 29/03/2018 20:30

There now I'm stunned again. I thought DLAM Morocco was just her holiday and selfish mother is currently abroad again, but in away that the part that when you find out it was an ad or gift is so irritating. I don't begrudge someone doing well travelling or a break, I couldn't care less. But when you have no idea and it's being flaunted it's deceitful. The ones which have promoted holidays with tagged accommodations and oh this is so good for the kids, if it's been free is it a true, fair review? It's like if you holiday peak season or off season and 1 person pays £400 and the other £2000 (definitely not on a destinology holiday 🤣) but they may have very differing views of value for money.
I'd have no issue with Disney offered us accommodation and we paid for flights etc it's all the hidden stuff. Which again if you don't put so much out there, won't be so questioned.

Fruitbowl2 · 29/03/2018 20:35

Every holiday/hotel stay I've seen the insta crew have in the last year was paid wasn't it? There's been those 'Thanks to....' most of them have been the same brand etc.

Mumofkids · 29/03/2018 20:37

Personally I'd like these threads to push for

A) more protection of the children, including information about schools etc

B) that their work is properly managed, recorded and paid in their own right

C) that 'influencers' who choose to influence their followers act responsibly and make clear definitions of whether they are making an ad and have been paid, if it's a freebie etc

D) to stop pretending they are just normal people. They are people courting and enjoying a fame and they are not unaccountable for their choices because it's a new medium.

auditqueen · 29/03/2018 20:41

this is a new media, we are all learning

Oh please. You are women who are learning a living advertising products. Own it. The whole "poor little me, we just helpless women bumbling along and making mistakes so forgive us cos we're a bit naive and thick" scenario is bollocks. Isn't it.

You've found an opportunity and are making money from it. At least have the guts to admit it.

Stellastartsitall · 29/03/2018 20:44

Its just basic consumer protection. Why is there a whole brigade against it?

Stellastartsitall · 29/03/2018 20:46

They are actually intelligent, savvy and know how to hustle. So the victim argument don't work

Stellastartsitall · 29/03/2018 20:53

Here we go with the clear blurring of lines and bending rules! Martha declared her towels were "gifted" on stories which disappear after 24 hours. Yet posted a square featuring and tagging it without any mention of it being a "gift". A transaction has taken place. This is not transparency or a disclosure.

Mumofkids · 29/03/2018 20:53

In fact some of them call it a hustle! On their terms they do what they want and when questioned people are being mean to them.

CadyHeron · 29/03/2018 20:54

But they made themselves public, Roll with the punches...... And I'm sure all those getaways are compensation enough.

Oh right, so if you put yourself out there in a blog/instagram feed and are lucky to make any money from it, that makes it OK for all the seriously over invested, creepy stalkerish type posts like on here?
Fair game, bring on the insults and trying to trash them (last night, for example!) as after all the compensation they get means it's all OK?
FFS, listen to yourself.

CadyHeron · 29/03/2018 20:57

Fruitbowl I think you seem most invested - your comments verge on being obsessed it's really quite odd.

There really is some seriously over invested posts on here, aren't there?
It's not a derailment to say so, just an observation.
Is it like a self appointed Internet Police corner on here or something?
For those who profess to hate the instagrammers so much, with their so called perfect lives, there's some obsessed type watching of accounts going on trying to see them trip up.

@stellstartsitall hmm Martha also appeared to be quite disdainful of the whole declaring gift etc. I miss how her account used to be!

Mumofkids · 29/03/2018 21:01

Ahh cadyheron making those bizarre random little statements that have never been made.
For those who profess to hate the instagrammers so much
Who? Where? I love Instagram! I just don't like being lied to, made a muppet of, poor parenting and using kids! Weird that!
