Mine is everywhere I see everyone has a Pandora charm bracelet on.
Whilst I own the bow necklace and earrings.. I can't see the appeal in the charms :/ yet apparently they're the best thing according to my best friend.

Shakespeare is a load of bollocks.

ilikebread · 27/03/2018 22:08

Shakespeare is a load of bollocks interesting. Forget the immense influence Shakespeare had on our language today.....

Serena1985 · 27/03/2018 23:17

That’s the opinion you’re questioning?!

JazzHotBaby · 27/03/2018 23:28

Gin is fucking rank.

JazzHotBaby · 27/03/2018 23:32

Bruce Forsyth was a terrible TV presenter.

And a shitty person too, according to my late Grandmother, who worked in the British Film Industry back in the day. (She had a pretty menial job - you know how people say be nice to the cleaner? Yeah, tons of stories about which celebs were nice and which ones treated her and her colleagues like dirt.)

Dozer · 27/03/2018 23:35

Thinking bruce forsyth was a shit presenter isn’t a minority opinion IMO!

BonnieF · 27/03/2018 23:36

Agree completely about teachers. If it’s really that intolerable, stop moaning and leave teaching.

Nobody is forcing them to stay, so if they choose to do so, at least be honest be honest about why : 13 weeks off a year and a guaranteed pension might have something to do with it.

Middleoftheroad · 27/03/2018 23:40

I-Phones are overrated

I don't 'get' Alexa, Echo or similar device

Selfies and pouts are embarrasing

Ski-ing is not fun

Exercise is boring

McDonald's coffee is a better deal than Costa

John Lewis is wonderful

John Lewis Christmas ads are genius

Nana's soup ad is hilarious

There, I feel better Smile

Middleoftheroad · 27/03/2018 23:42

Sorry last four were meant to read 'not' so JL and Nana's Soup ads do nothing for me!

LEMtheoriginal · 27/03/2018 23:44

Bacon smells nicer than it tastes

The80sweregreat · 28/03/2018 07:02

I am always nice to everyone from cleaner upwards as you never know in life, one day they might become your boss! I am a nobody, but anyone who doesnt show respect to everyone has a problem in my eyes. I can imagine cuddly Brucie wasnt always friendly somehow.

Parkinson said David Beckham was lovely to everyone on his show once - its not always PR its how your brought up too i think.

Dozer · 28/03/2018 07:22

On teaching, we don’t know how teachers’ workload and pay and conditions objectively compares to other occupations or sectors. If in the private sector then those occupations will usually be much higher paid than teaching. There aren’t that many occupations where you’re so regulated - medicine, pharmacy, law, accountancy, engineering - all higher paid than teaching. Other health and social care occupations perhaps similar pay.

As for “why don’t they just leave” there are entry barriers to changing occupations and people have bills to pay so often don’t want to risk seeking an entry level job in a new field.

I do think think your alone there. I blame willy wonka for the Orange faces and comic joke shop eyebrows.

StealthPolarBear · 28/03/2018 07:55

Lots of teachers have worked in the private sector and still say teaching is hard.
Actually doesn't teaching in academies count as private sector now anyway?

Schnauzermum2 · 28/03/2018 08:08

That breast feeding makes very little difference in the western world to healthy kids (apart from to their parents pocket) and the harm the pressure to breast feed does to a lot of mums far outweighs the small benefit that might arise.

That no one should reach the level of partner/boss of large teams/ceo etc until at leat 50. Might stop some of the backstabbing, inappropriate promotions etc at work. We might actually end up with better more rounded people at the top. Younger people just don’t have the experience.

ilikebread · 28/03/2018 08:14

Schnauzermum2 we already have this though; white men in thier 50s rule the world...

TenancyTroublesAgain · 28/03/2018 09:10

I hate this trend of faded eyebrows and contouring / highlighter complete with a face full of makeup. You don't have to look like you're on a photoshoot to go to Tesco. If you look your best doing the most mundane things then what are you doing to do to top it on a night out? Maybe you're going to get too used to it and be even more unhappy with your appearance at the first sign of aging.

TenancyTroublesAgain · 28/03/2018 09:13

Vodka is fucking awful.

Serena1985 · 28/03/2018 10:13

I don’t doubt that it’s hard Stealth. I’m not taking that away from them. I know loads of teachers and I know it’s hard. What I dispute is that it’s any harder than other professional jobs. Which are also hard. We all work hard. They aren’t special cases.

And the teachers I know don’t seem to be badly paid either. I’m a junior lawyer and they aren’t paid that much less than I am.

OohMavis · 28/03/2018 10:15

I love Ricky Gervais. Think he's hilarious.

honeylulu · 28/03/2018 11:35

Everything should not revolve primarily around the children of the family. Everyone's needs and desires need to be balanced. Not least because it eases the path into adult life (otherwise, you are the centre of the universe, then you hit 18 and BAM, suddenly you aren't!)

Women are not usually the primary carer of children solely because of social conditioning but because that's what they want and choose.

SAHP should do most of the housework.

I like to celebrate my birthday even though I'm an adult.

I think most holidays are overrated and a waste of money, especially with children. (I still go on them though.)

I don't like en suites - make your bedroom danp and smell of shit.

Don't see what's wrong with sharing bath water - makes economic and environmental sense.

I couldn't care less about cars. As long as it's economical you run and can get me safely and reliably from A to B i couldn't care less. I'm sure people think I'm much less well off than i am because i have such a cheap crappy car.

I think the female body is badly designed. The clitoris and urethra should be transposed for maximum pleasure and minimal risk of cystitis. Anyone I've mentioned this to have just looked perplexed/horrified.

The80sweregreat · 28/03/2018 12:21

Nothing wrong with a cheap car - new ones only depreciate in value. the upkeep and paying out for them to be fixed / taxed/ repaired is a pain though and keeps you poor , but they are also essential in today's world.
I agree that holidays abroad are just a bit meh - everyone following everyone else to do the 'sights' crowded dirty airports, waiting around forever to get the flight back home again, usually hours then a delay. having to go through passport control with the rest of the world which seems to take longer than the actual flight to get to and get away from. then the shuttle bus experience to find the car covered in bird poo to then come home to piles of dirty washing. you need another break after all that.

Fluffynuts · 28/03/2018 15:56

I agree with your points regarding children honey

Ski40 · 28/03/2018 15:58

@TenancyTroublesAgain I couldn't agree more! I'm gobsmacked at all these Instagram girls that look like clones of each other with the 3 hours of countouring, the puffed up lips and the ultra highlighted shiny nose. Why??😮 Half of them look so much better before the slap, plus surely they must be ruining their skin prematurely, plus I pity the poor blokes that go home with someone one night and wake up with, humm... someone else!! 😁😂
Jokes aside I am all for some nice makeup that makes the best of your features but drawing a whole new face over yours is sad. I wish girls could see their natural beauty and stop trying to be somebody else. My daughter is about to hit puberty and this concerns me.
