Mine is everywhere I see everyone has a Pandora charm bracelet on.
Whilst I own the bow necklace and earrings.. I can't see the appeal in the charms :/ yet apparently they're the best thing according to my best friend.

That people give up on relationships too easily and dating has become a consumerist activity.

Slut shaming is a ridiculous turn of phrase.

Bruce Forsyth was a terrible TV presenter.

Being judgemental is seen to be the biggest taboo in our society and stops people from exercising and expressing sound judgement.

Throwingthebomb · 27/03/2018 00:47

Being judgemental is seen to be the biggest taboo in our society and stops people from exercising and expressing sound judgement. unless you're online and no one knows who you are. Then its a feeding frenzy.

Serena1985 · 27/03/2018 00:50

Oh I have one.

Teachers need to stop moaning. Yes I get that they’re busy and stressed but you know, so are most other professionals. Only they work the long hours without the holidays. Which in my experience most teachers can’t seem to just accept as a perk of the job, oh no.

And before anyone says resign and become a teacher, I would in a heartbeat if they’d accept my law degree. But they won’t.

That some tattoos are genuinely interesting, impressive, creative works of art.

But the other 99.9% are an ugly, unimaginative, badly drawn, chavvy mess.

crikeycrumbsblimey · 27/03/2018 05:45

Most of the time long hair looks terrible on little girls as they can’t look after it and should be doing more interesting things than playing with their hair anyway.

Having short hair will not hurt or defeminise them. Threads on here which suggest cutting a little girls hair is cruel make me want to scream.

Dipitydoda · 27/03/2018 07:08

@serena1985 - are you me, exactly the same peeve (and degree😁).

People who get divorced for reasons like “I don’t feel fulfilled” “he texted another woman” etc when they have kids

Dandellion · 27/03/2018 11:29

Agree with the teacher thing. My sister went straight into teaching from university. She moans that she works such long days because she gets into school at 8.15am and doesn't leave until 5.00pm. So that would be an average working day then? She moans that she has to take work (marking) home with her. I have never had a job where I haven't had to bring work home, and trust me correcting a 9 year olds spelling is a damned sight easier than my homework. In the past she has lived with us and I saw very little in the way of her working during the school holidays because when she wasn't with us, she went travelling in South America for 4 weeks Hmm

As the product of a household where the parents stayed together for the sake of the kids I can confirm that kids pick up on it and it's a horrible environment to grow up in. If either party is unhappy then they should divorce, especially if they have kids.

A lot of celebrity culture is style over substance and always has been.
some actors are just lucky to be in the right place at the right time and their faces fit, very few are actually outstandingly good and the Oscars is just a back slapping exercise to further the cause of making some look better than than they really are. I used to like certain ones myself, but as you age, you realise that all is not what it seems.

Doryismyname · 27/03/2018 14:56

YY to the teacher thing. Although I have absolute respect for the job that they do but I get a bit fed up of all the moaning. The hours, having to justify and evidence your work, having to answer to a regulatory body, having to do stuff outside of work hours - these are things that many people do in other jobs for less pay and a pittance pension.

@Dandellion I agree the worst are the ones that have never actually left education. Some actually have no idea what life is like in the real world.

The80sweregreat · 27/03/2018 15:03

I think that a few teachers would do well to get jobs in other fields before becoming teachers. some just stay in education and makes them a bit blinkered to the outside world.

Namechangemum100 · 27/03/2018 15:41

People who talk about their cats like they are people are possibly the most dullest people on the planet.

Anyone who refers to themselves or someone else as "mental" or "crazy" are guaranteed to be as dull as dishwater...and probably like talking about cats.

I like cadburys creme eggs and really can't taste the difference.

Most people that have plastic surgery would have received more value for money attending therapy.

Being a sahm with a baby is entirely different to being a sahm to school aged children and should not be seen as the same thing.

Not all babies "thrive" in nursery...they just survive because it's not like they have any choice over the matter.

TenancyTroublesAgain · 27/03/2018 17:40

I don't like cats. They're cocky and annoying and skulk around suspiciously. Wink

AsAProfessionalFekko · 27/03/2018 17:55

Fresh fish (the dead, fishmonger variety) smells like bottoms.

Sarahh2014 · 27/03/2018 17:57

I really dislike cats
Tess Daly gets on my tits
I don't like other people's children

andyandapril · 27/03/2018 18:00

I dislike most school uniforms. They look uncomfortable and impractical. And five days a week at school is one day too many at least for primary.

BigPinkBall · 27/03/2018 18:07

I agree about school uniforms, they’re uncomfortable, never look smart because they’re always with 3 sizes too big or too small and I think it’s important for children to be able to express themselves through what they wear, school uniforms always remind me of ‘children should be seen and not heard’

The80sweregreat · 27/03/2018 18:10

I went to a primary and secondary school in the 70s early 80s without a uniform and i hated it! the school only stopped making us wear them the years i started. it was horrible and i wanted to wear one - it still grates to this day. my brothers went to secondary modern schools ( older than me) and they look nice in their school photos with a tie and blazer.
They said it was because it was in apoor area with a large council estate ( pre people buying them up from the council) so i just felt stigmatised. I dont know anyone else who didnt wear one - people are shocked when i tell them. i wonder if it was an experiment of some sort - mum still had to buy me clothes to wear for school and the school PE kit. i loved that my children all had to wear them - made life easier for me.
I hate really hot weather - that seems to wind people up as most folk love it.

andyandapril · 27/03/2018 18:11

Thanks BigPink. Agree with all of what you said. And don’t start me on how you can’t tailor them to suit the weather.

Fluffynuts · 27/03/2018 18:27

TOWIE girls look old and cheap

BigPinkBall · 27/03/2018 18:42

@The80sweregreat I can see how that would be stigmatising if yours was the only school without them.
Personally I was always really impressed by the posh boys school near us who had to wear suits, they looked really smart but they could choose the cut and colour of suit, shirt & tie to suit them. I’m sure there could be a happy medium like as long as what you’re wearing is smart and without branding on it.
I may be biased in my opinion because my school uniform was a bright red polyester jumper which clashed with my red hair Blush

NellythePink · 27/03/2018 19:20

Ryan Gosling - meh

andyandapril · 27/03/2018 20:16

Yes a happy medium re school uniforms. The Japanese have different uniforms for the different seasons.

Dandellion · 27/03/2018 20:33

Yes, Doryismyname. If teachers had worked first in the private sector they would understand that many of the professions require long hours, always taking work home, working at weekends and being constantly assessed and moderated by outside bodies.
