Yep if m&s want to keep flogging stuff to their exclusive demographic... Sales will go down.

iow86 · 26/03/2018 20:41

I don't actually mind the interior accounts, I can imagine it's hard to get thousands of followers - I've got 186 and it's taken me years Wink I suppose they need an eye for it and all have to start somewhere in making their homes nice.

But going back to 'insta mums' like the thread suggests. They drive me insane. Just because you have had a child doesn't mean you should put them on an a pedestal and use them as an asset, I find Mrs Meldrum so cringeworthy. Let's sit and pose with my children and pretend we are being natural. Enjoy the moment!! Why post it all online??

Fruitbowl2 · 26/03/2018 20:43

Why are interiors bloggers selling m&s dinners?! So wierd.

I loved Martha last year too. But I just find her ads out of place...... Like she even feels embarrassed putting them up. But I guess its working well for her. Lots of new followers and clearly not strapped for cash anymore. But she needs to stop with the grabby stuff that's creeping in.....

onemouseplace · 26/03/2018 20:46

fruitbowl2 I get my interiors kicks these days by browsing sites for location houses.

Fruitbowl2 · 26/03/2018 20:48

Ooh excellent idea onemouseplace, will try that thanks.

LucreziaBoredYa · 26/03/2018 20:48

I find anyone putting all the minutiae of their life online odd generally, whether mums or selling things or not. But maybe I'm an old fogey (41).

IsThisAWindUp · 26/03/2018 20:48

Their food sales took a dive over Christmas. Sending food parcels out to bloggers isn't going to work, I shouldn't think.

I used to love the interiors accounts but once you have spotted one undisclosed ad you start spotting them everywhere. It started to drive me mad and I have been on an unfollowing spree. Lisa Dawson has stated she doesn't disclose gifted items and actually now I am aware of this I see heaps of ads on her feed, so I unfollowed her. I like renovation accounts. Most of them have other jobs so they aren't aping for the blog to be their main source of income so feel more authentic than the instamums and fashion blogs.

puppower · 26/03/2018 20:49

Re interiors (which I love) once I got a bit bored of the mags and IG accounts, I found the best thing was to pick a swishy postcode on Rightmove to get inspiration/have a nose. No annoying hashtags

Thought it was just me, I’m obsessed with Rightmove interiors!

IsThisAWindUp · 26/03/2018 20:49

The Shoot Factory has an awesome feed if you are into location houses.

HolyMountain · 26/03/2018 20:50

Lisa Dawson’s house must be brimming with free stuff. She’s having a lamp shade hung on her landing that cost at least £1000. I’m fairly sure it was a ‘gift’ but I’m happy to be corrected.

its5oclocksomewhere · 26/03/2018 20:51

rvk_loves was doing the M&S Easter food posts yesterday as well and then today she's put up some clarification post on her stories trying to explain why she was using both #spon and #ad in the posts. The live stories were unseen content so they were to be tagged #spon but the regular IG posts were brand approved in advance so they were #ad..?? It shouldn't be this difficult. You shouldn't have to be clarifying and clearing up your disclosures on a paid ad with M&S.

Stellastartsitall · 26/03/2018 20:52

I love thise17life but I'm hiping she doesn't become one of the mum crew clique. She genuinely seems to pay for everything at the moment.

Hoping even....

Fruitbowl2 · 26/03/2018 20:55

Wind Up The ASA says they have to disclose gifted items!! When will they do something about these IGers - they are taking the p*ss!

I will check out the shoot factory thanks!

IsThisAWindUp · 26/03/2018 20:55

I also love thisE17Life and she seems like a really good egg. While she would probably attract brands, I get the feeling she would be transparent and handle it really well.

pineapplefritter · 26/03/2018 20:56

My all time favourite is

Welcometolifewiththepownalls

She has a lot of followers but doesn’t ever do ADS

PforPhoebeHforhoebe · 26/03/2018 20:57

I love danni_thegirl

Stellastartsitall · 26/03/2018 20:59

@isthisawindup She comes across as a really classy lady! Thiseast17life

juddyrockingcloggs · 26/03/2018 20:59

I love danni_thegirl

Horses for courses and all that jazz but she is insipid.

Babaloo88 · 26/03/2018 21:01

Mumofkids, I’m just very confused by it all. I saw the M&S food parcel- what a great idea! Let’s send a food parcel to those middle class families, I’m certain they won’t be able to afford it already! I saw susie posting a #gift from baby yo-yo! Those prams are like £600! I don’t get why people like her who already have money accepts these gifts! Just reeks of greediness!

Sparklesdontshine · 26/03/2018 21:01

Found lots of new people to follow from this thread Smile

PforPhoebeHforhoebe · 26/03/2018 21:01

Well yes she probably isn't backed up by a media person , but I find her real .
