Interested to read this in the Guardian today

has MOD ever mentioned about moving to a different/local hospital? Surely the cost of a London commute must negate any salary.

800msprint · 26/03/2018 14:13

MOD could have negotiated a prize holiday instead of going. The holiday company still get the exposure plus are also seen as worthy too.
Probably would have been more exposure if it was a hashtag and follow thing

Mumofkids · 26/03/2018 14:15

The yesmum hypnobirthing I've not dissed. I do follow her as I'm interested in that side of things. But the daily self loving just does nothing for me, not because I'm a hater or lack positivity but as a carer for a severely mentally disabled child, I find life pretty stressful and hard at times and I feel like those cards are mocking me, as are the glossy women promoting them. I am aware that just because you are privileged doesn't mean you are happy or don't suffer but the cards just don't do it for me.
Re fanny admin, I didn't pay too much attention, other than to note that she was promoting a business so assumed it was a freebie, and that she had the time despite being so busy as an author/midwife and mum to take this time out, frankly I don't. I rarely make it to a hairdresser...let alone a foof dresser.
I find this discussion really interesting because is has made so much about how these accounts work, more visible. They are just businesses and those critisizing the discussion or saying it comes across badly should just take a minute to see it's all bollocks, they don't really care the followers are just stats that earn them money and freebies.

800msprint · 26/03/2018 14:15

Or maybe I really am that stupid that something nice that that could happen on Instagram 😂

I used to really enjoy MoD posts before freebie after freebie. I know the reality, I know it takes 100 takes to get that perfect family photo and I wish I could just step away completely and keep telling myself that. Instead I compare myself to them. I don’t even know why!

LyndaSnellsFeet · 26/03/2018 14:22

TBH the whole wider positive birth movement is something which annoys me but that's not a discussion for this thread!

LyndaSnellsFeet · 26/03/2018 14:25

I like Susie’s most recent pic. That is the kind of stuff I want to see. Not outfit of the day. Massive, leaky tits!

Yeah, and I guarantee she put that up because she'd been reading this thread. Last time she read one of these threads she put up a very spiteful instastory and it made her look bad.

I love this thread! I’ve just had a look at Homethatmademe Take

How on earth does she keep her house looking like that!? And the valentines of her and her DH Grin Mine would just pull a daft face if I asked him to pose like that!

What gets my goat is the people over expose their illnesses or depression or problems they are having or had under the guise of ‘oh if I just help one person’...

I’m not talking about people like feathering the empty nest (who I actually cannot stand btw) but she has been through the most terrible thing but she is actually raising money for charity.

I’m talking about the people who constantly talk about their eating disorders, depression, child’s reflux etc and constantly make Instagram posts and YouTube videos for ‘awareness’ yet for me the titles they use and the constant barrage of content about it, seems to me like they are doing it for traffic and money rather than actually helping as well as the poor little me aspect. This mama life is absolutely terrible for this. Constantly talking about how difficult her son is and how she hadnt bonded with him, how he’s so hard to deal with constantly whining and not like her daughter, I just don’t think it’s fair
On him to be honest. I’m sure he’s really going to love watching those videos when he’s olderHmm

And I’m not saying these subjects shouldn’t be brought up, they should and they do help people sometimes, but one post or one video is enough, but the way they use them to make money, views, likes etc that’s what I don’t like because it’s makes it seem so insincere.

fiftydollarbill · 26/03/2018 14:56

The Home that made me keeps a tidy house il give her that but she seems like a right lazy slob in other aspects.

Husband takes kids on days out whilst she has her Lazy day on the sofa but she seems to have quite a few week Shock

She’s a prolific one for shouting out for freebies.

WipsGlitter · 26/03/2018 15:35

The home that made me - why is it called that?? She seems to have a good relationship with Neptune!!

instabum · 26/03/2018 16:07

I thought it was lovely that MOD took her sister on holiday until FOD said he couldn't go as he couldn't get the time off work, so presumably they were all supposed to go together. It will be nice for the big girls to have time on their own with MOD though.

I love the "you deserve it!" comments, especially as they haven't even been back from Disney for 2 months.

shesakeeper · 26/03/2018 16:10

You deserve it! You've done eight shifts in a labour ward this year! Go you!

Mumofkids · 26/03/2018 16:11

Instabum I just don't buy it, he works from home the 80% of the time..

WipsGlitter · 26/03/2018 16:12

Yeah but working from home doesn't mean you get unlimited annual leave!

PavlovaPrincess · 26/03/2018 16:13

I went off THTMM when she featured in an interiors magazine and it was basically Charlotte congratulating herself on managing to buy a house. She was 'really proud of herself for everything she'd managed to achieve at such a young age'.

Unless she bought it outright when she was 12 after saving up her money from her paper round, it's not that big a deal, is it?

BustleInYourHedgerow · 26/03/2018 16:15

Followed a few people on this thread for a nosy - including swearytattooednumoffour, think @adidasgirl recommended her... Just saw her story and she was filming and driving. Why do people think its OK to do this? Promptly unfollowed of course.

Mumofkids · 26/03/2018 16:22

Wips, hmm he can work wherever...

Mumofkids · 26/03/2018 16:29

Sorry. Cynical me just thinks after so many people said from Disney that they were inspired to travel with toddlers, that they didn't want to admit it was hell!! 🤣

instabum · 26/03/2018 16:34

I don't resent them for grabbing any holiday offers with both hands as I would too, but it is sad in a way that they are going to people who could afford them anyway. For most St Lucia and Disney are once in a life time holidays, but most of these Insta parents could afford them. That's life I suppose.

Evsandme · 26/03/2018 16:39

Oh my lord do you lot have nothing better to do than make posts and make nasty comments like this?! These women have managed to build brands, gain income and have quite bravely opened up their entire lives to the world and you come on here and say horrible things about them hiding behind mumsnet usernames. Sorry but if companies contacted you sending you free stuff in exchange for a picture on Instagram or offered you money you’d take it no hesitations so stop sitting on your thrones and judging them just because you don’t understand the power of social media and how it works. It’s a bloody tough world blogging and I applaud these women who make their livings from it. Good on them. If you don’t like it, stop following them rather than coming on here and bitching to make yourselves feel better about your evidently boring lives.

shesakeeper · 26/03/2018 16:41

Oh yes. They are very brave. Very brave indeed. Hmm
