Nose piercing.....how old is old enough?

My 14 year old wants her nose pierced. She's at a school which allows one facial piercing in secondary school but I am not sure about this.

She's been asking since she was about 12 and I did have my own done when I was about 17....but it seems faddy and too young.

Any advice? Do I just say no?

I personally think 14 is fine. As others have said she's clearly thought about this for 2 years... a substansial period of time for a pre teen/teen! If in the future she no longer likes it all she has to do is remove the hoop/stud. She's at the stage in life where you get piercings, dye your hair & experiment with fashion. As long as you accompany her to a reputable piercer (i have no doubt that this is what you would do) I really don't see a problem with it, would be a fab birthday gift 😊 At 14 she could be up to a lot worse.... I know I was!
