Men in lingerie shops - yay or nay?

Could I please ask the MN jury...If you were to go into a lingerie shop which was quite small with only one or two customers and there was a man sitting there on his phone, would this put you off shopping or taking things into the changing room?

I don’t think I’d mind as long as he wasn’t in the changing rooms?

hidinginthenightgarden · 16/03/2018 18:51

No. I would assume he was waiting for his partner. If he was actively shopping I would assume he was shopping FOR his partner. Either are fine with me.

MrsJoshDun · 16/03/2018 18:52

Wouldn’t bother me. It’s just clothes.

upsideup · 16/03/2018 18:53

No, hes either waiting for his partner or buying lingerie for his partner.

PurpleDaisies · 16/03/2018 18:53

Why should it be an issue? He’s entitled to be there. They’re not women only shops.

toolonglurking · 16/03/2018 18:54

Not an issue, no different to a woman in the boxers section of M&S.

ALittleAubergine · 16/03/2018 18:54

Wouldn't bother me at all. I'd assume he's waiting for someone or buying for someone.

MerryInthechelseahotel · 16/03/2018 18:55

Tbh it would put me off

Dljlr · 16/03/2018 18:56

The man in Matalan closely observing my pants choice whilst jiggling his pocket hand was a definite nay. Dude hanging around on his phone while he waits for his companion to finish her shopping, fine.

ScreamingValenta · 16/03/2018 18:56

I doubt I'd even notice him.

Yarboosucks · 16/03/2018 18:56

What a strange question...

MelanieCheeks · 16/03/2018 18:56

Are you going to be trying on the lingerie just in the changing room, or parading round the shop in it?

JacksGirl123 · 16/03/2018 18:58

I don't get it. Why would it put you off shopping or taking things into the changing room?

KenAdams · 16/03/2018 18:58

Really? That's ridiculous.

kubex · 16/03/2018 18:59

Here we go again Hmm

RedRedDogsBeg · 16/03/2018 19:00

a public place? no. no issues

lingerie shop? do you mean ann summers type place?

RedRedDogsBeg · 16/03/2018 19:01

oh kubex is it one of those threads?

safiya6 · 16/03/2018 19:01

Thankyou. I met my friend for lunch today. She told me she went into a lingerie shop and DH was sitting there taking a business call. She said she felt awkward and another woman and the staff were actively waiting for him to leave because they had finished wrapping his purchases. She said he should have the sense to not take calls in a women's space and should have gone outside because he was "forcing customers out." I know the shop she means and it's not large, but surely a shop is a public space?

No problem.
the only law I would pass that unless he can prove that the underwear is for him to wear, men are not allowed to by red underwear.

MaireadMacSweeney · 16/03/2018 19:02

If he was concentrating on his phone I might not mind.

I absolutely hate it though when older men my age are trailing around after their wives in the lingerie section of m&s gawping at the bras and knickers Hmm

I make a point of tutting at them Grin

planetclom · 16/03/2018 19:02

Buy

demirose87 · 16/03/2018 19:03

No wouldn't bother me but I hate it when there's men in the sex toy section in Ann Summers watching what I'm buying. But not if he was just sat there minding his own business.

MaireadMacSweeney · 16/03/2018 19:03

Whose DH?

RedRedDogsBeg · 16/03/2018 19:03

just 'older' men mairead?

KJE2017 · 16/03/2018 19:05

Wouldn't bother me
