Men in lingerie shops - yay or nay?

Could I please ask the MN jury...If you were to go into a lingerie shop which was quite small with only one or two customers and there was a man sitting there on his phone, would this put you off shopping or taking things into the changing room?

just 'older' men mairead?

Yes, I'm 65, so my age-ish.

Yarboosucks · 16/03/2018 19:07

I like to torture my son (18) by trailing around underwear shops and departments when we are out shopping together…

bettinasofine · 16/03/2018 19:07

Unless they're having a wank over the lingerie I don't see the problem

backsackcraic · 16/03/2018 19:07

No not at all!

73kittycat73 · 16/03/2018 19:09

Why is everybody saying he could be buying for his partner? He could be buying for himself!

JayZed · 16/03/2018 19:10

Just sitting there, probably bored out his mind. Wouldn't care

Actively following women around or having a sniff at the kickers. I'd be out there quick as fucking lightning

ilovesooty · 16/03/2018 19:12

I am mystified as to why this should bother anybody.

safiya6 · 16/03/2018 19:14

It does annoy me a bit in department stores when whole families are camped outside the changing rooms for ages, but apart from that, I don't think of any shop as a "women only space."

OP posts:
gamerwidow · 16/03/2018 19:16

It’s a shop not a woman only safe space. Men have as much right to be there are anyone else. If he was invading your personal space or making inappropriate comments it would be different.

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 16/03/2018 19:17

But whose husband was it?

PurpleDaisies · 16/03/2018 19:18

I’ve never heard of anyone referring to a shop as a “women only space”.

gamerwidow · 16/03/2018 19:20

I do think hanging about in a shop to take a phone call when you’ve already been served is taking liberties though. The staff were probably more annoyed that they hadn’t finished shopping and then left instead of taking up space until they finished the call.

safiya6 · 16/03/2018 19:22

Sorry it was my DH who my friend knows obviously. She said he was going on and on on the phone with no self -awareness and driving customers out because it's a very small shop.

OP posts:
halfwitpicker · 16/03/2018 19:22

OMG nay.

MoodyMumOfOne · 16/03/2018 19:22

I agree with a pp, taking a call, maybe loudly, went you have made a purchase is irritating, especially in a small shop.

PurpleDaisies · 16/03/2018 19:23

I think a person staying in a small shop to to take a phonecall is quite rude. The type of shop/sex of the customer is irrelevant.

Flockoftreegulls · 16/03/2018 19:24

As long as he was waiting for his partner and not just sat in a lingerie shop perving.

Yarboosucks · 16/03/2018 19:25

So is this thread going to take much time to get to the bit about why your DH was in the undie shop?

Solasshole · 16/03/2018 19:26

I might briefly do a double take if I saw a man in a lingerie shop but I wouldn't actually care if they were minding their own business

Casmama · 16/03/2018 19:28

I agree he should have left the shop once he had completed his purchase.
I would be less concerned about what type of shop he was in and more concerned about the arrogance of someone chuntering on and having to hear one side of a tedious conversation in a small shop.

BonnieF · 16/03/2018 19:30

Are you sure it wasn’t a priest who had got ‘lost’ in the lingere section?

MerryInthechelseahotel · 17/03/2018 12:22

Bonnie 😂😂😂

UserXRay29 · 17/03/2018 12:37

No wouldn't bother me but I hate it when there's men in the sex toy section in Ann Summers watching what I'm buying. But not if he was just sat there minding his own business.

My wife and I have been shopping for sex toys together in Ann Summers. Would the presence of a man there make you uncomfortable or only if they were watching what you're buying. Genuine question.
