TESCO grocery delivery

I am FURIOUS

Ordered the weekly shop and it hasn’t turned up. Delivery time was 3-4 pm. No call to say it wasnt coming
Managed to get hold of them and it’s apparently not coming but they’ve taken the money £194. !!!!!!!

Now I have no shopping and no money to go elsewhere to get any they won’t refund today it will be 2-5 days

That's outrageous and completely unsatisfactory.

Whilst you're on hold OP, create a Facebook and a Twitter and appeal online. They're far more accommodating when they're on full view in front of the public. Can guarantee you'll have received a full shop by tomorrow morning.

Yes it will be the process that delays the refund but by debiting the money they entered a contract with you. Get the manager to deliver it themselves and never shop with Tesco again. Terrible terrible company

They should not be taking the money until it is delivered. Pretty sure Ocado do it that way.
Kick up a big fuss!

Make a fuss. Do they know you have a newborn? I would start a twitter account just for this - all you need is an email address. Really poor service.

From what I can see as soon as the delivery slot time has passed it shows as delivered on my account and they take the money whether it’s actually been delivered or not
I won’t use them ever again.

This happened to me, make a fuss, tell them you have a newborn. The manager delivered mine to me on his way home. Hope they sort this out for you.

Same thing happened to me. I made a huge fuss and complained. My money £135 still took a week to be refunded back to my account and they gave me a £20 voucher. I was pissed off seriously

It's pretty much theft. You need to call them again and tell them you're not going to stop calling until you either have your full shopping tonight or the 194 confirmed as refunded.

I use Ocado and they don't take anything until AFTER the delivery and when they're sure 're any substitutions and carrier bags recycled etc. Much better!

This happened to a friend last week in the bad weather but with Asda, they took a week to refund her and she couldn’t afford to get food until the money was back in her account.

Depending on what you need, Ocado can be really overpriced though, obviously sometimes you get decent deals on.

Kick up a fuss and insist you either want your stuff or the money now? Maybe ask them to put it on a store card? I know they don't deserve your custom right now, but better than waiting.

Glad you got in the end OP. I've had a disaster with Tesco today. Food turned up with a unknown yellow chemical all over it. Strong enough to damage and discolour the fruit and veg. We have not ordered any cleaning chemicals, so it hadn't leaked! no idea what it was but smells like drain cleaner! Got them to come and take the whole lot back again. They tried to fob us off with just refunding the damaged items. Awful awful company.

Not sure Twitter will help. I had mouldy/visibly off veg on Friday. Emailed response said get back to you in 4 days, so tweeted and have had no response to that.

We have 3 times been failed by Tesco delivery to my 90 year old mum put it in twitter and Facebook got offered new explanations just a £5 voucher utter disgrace

They have told us they will call tomorrow and will refund for the missing items
Luckily the nappies wipes calpol and nurofen came !

Of non delivery a couple of weeks ago. The customer service lady was so bloody rude - like she was doing me a massive favour.

Also, tell Tesco you had to go out and do your shopping elsewhere. Ask for proper compo (£100 voucher).

This happened to me once. 10-11 slot and at 10.50 nothing had come so I called tescos to ask if it was still coming, obviously worried their phone lines would be shut as they shut and 10, they told me no it wouldn't be. And that they could only refund me or rearrange it for tomorrow. I chose the next day as I didn't have the money to buy the shopping again whilst waiting for a refund. Anyway the next day again it just never showed up so I had no choice but to cancel it all. And yes tescos definitely takes the money BEFORE delivering. I'm surprised anywhere would take it after? What would happen if the card was declined? Come back and knock on the door demanding the shopping?
