To think being blonde doesn’t automatically mean you’re attractive?

I see it on here a lot. Because someone is blonde they are automatically gorgeous.

I’m not saying any other colour is better. I’m saying that certain hair colours suit different people.

I look better as a brunette, I wasn’t as attractive when I was blonde. I’m sure others have experienced this the other way around too.

I’m just getting quite tired of the whole everything needs to be light in order for anyone to be considered pretty.

TBH the blondes have dodged a bullet with a woman hater like that. Pity the poor brunettes and redheads he considers worthy of his attentions.

I do think blonde hair is more eye catching and blonde hair and blue eyes is generally accepted as a preference but then again there are millions of women out there who are stunning regardless of their hair and eye colour.

One thing I always think looks VERY odd, is people with brown eyes having blonde hair. Looks so WEIRD.

And they are never natural blondes.

Brunettes with blue eyes (or green) look good (as well as with brown eyes,) but blonde hair and brown eyes look wrong.

Like Kim K and Carey Mulligan here. Just no. They look much better brunette. Or at least with light to mid brown hair.

Only blue eyes or green eyes looks right with blonde hair.

Quite a few snide and bitchy comments about blondes here though. Sounds like some people are jealous and insecure.

I can't say I've noticed in on MN in particular, but is the whole "blondes are more attractive" thing not linked to pheromones?

I remember reading an article many years ago (pre-Internet) that women with lighter hair and skin release more of the sex pheromone than darker women, thus attrcting more men. I've not searched for this info online yet as I'd forgotten about it till I saw this thread, but if true, it would mean the attractiveness is subconscious and not an active choice by the poor, mesmerised menfolk.

Just to add - 15 year old dd who is blonde and slim does get unwanted attention, cars beeping their horns at her and leering which apparently gets properly out of control when she is accompanied by her blonde, slim friend. Apparently two of them together is too much for some men

Not in my opinion, no. I’m half french and have olive skin, I tried having blonde hair for a while and it washed me out. Looked really dreadful. I look far more attractive with my natural brunette hair. My DP isn’t attracted to blondes, nor am I.

For the brunettes who are sick of being overlooked in favour of their blonde sisteers, may i suggest you visit Sweden. Norway or Finland? I once encountered a Thor-like man in a bar in Helsinki who twirled my shortish, dark brown hair around his finger and said he loved it because, quote, "blonde was so boring". Why i didn't leave with him, I have no idea. I must have been slightly deranged..!

I know what you mean. I have naturally blonde hair and do get more attention on a night out even though my face is quite average.

My youngest son has a head of cherublike blonde curls and he gets lots of attention for them, people saying don’t cut them please! I myself can’t stop looking at them either as they are so beautiful and I’m not the same with my other son who has mousy hair. I’m just drawn to them.

Ohno - I think brown eyes and blonde hair look good! As do blue eyes and dark hair! My friend's little boy is half Iraqi half English and he has white blond hair and chocolate brown eyes, he's stunning. And these ladies don't do so badly...
