It makes my brain hurt so I’m just not going to try.

I could go with the 2 sided theory. Which would make the flat photos from space make sense.

Perhaps Cpt Cook did bump into America but didn't like the looks of it so kept on going?

DontCallMeCharlotte · 10/03/2018 08:23

There are dinosaurs in Crystal Palace Park.

Brahumbug · 10/03/2018 08:27

Actually the earth is more pear shaped than just oblate, but not by very much. I joined the Christians against dinosaurs Facebook group and I was disappointed as there seemed to be a lack of real believers I was hoping for a good laughGrin

Albadross · 10/03/2018 08:27

Is the Bermuda Triangle actually a plughole where people drop through the bottom of flat earth?

gamerwidow · 10/03/2018 08:27

This thread has reminded me about my favourite current internet conspiracy which is that Iceland does not exist.
Some real rabbit holes to be explored there Grin

InfiniteSheldon · 10/03/2018 08:29

Are we all ignoring the satsumas?

whoareyoukidding · 10/03/2018 08:31

Have not read the whole of this thread but the Op sounds v much like my dad. He also didn't believe in Darwinism.

wakemeupbefore · 10/03/2018 08:32

We are all right - I give you Multiverse Theories, pick & choose which one to latch onto!

Have spent many a happy hour pondering the concept; it works best after administering a copious amount of fire water, be warned.

GrainOfSalt · 10/03/2018 08:33

I actually met a real life person who doesn't believe in dinosaurs last year. It hurt my head.

DontCallMeCharlotte · 10/03/2018 08:48

Surely narwhals are the unicorns of the sea?

feathermucker · 10/03/2018 08:53

Degrees from the University of Life perchance?!

SomethingNarstyInTheWoodshed · 10/03/2018 08:55

Now. Evolution.

I was with some (relatively intelligent, normal) friends recently who actually believed humans are evolved from monkeys.

Not those pictures (more imagination) of hairy humanoid ape like cake people.

Actual monkeys. Like real ones.

Is that not complete bollox?

YouTheCat · 10/03/2018 09:02

There is a chance that Finland doesn't exist. It is estimated that Finland contains 0.01% of the population of the world, with a 0.1% adjustment for error, or something. Grin

Arealhumanbeing · 10/03/2018 09:10

Hmmm. Gravity. I’m not sure.

Photos are flat.

OP I think I love you. Please keep it coming. This has brightened up a shitty day for me.

kinorsam · 10/03/2018 09:13

Is that not complete bollox?

Yes.

Slanetylor · 10/03/2018 09:23

I kind of like flat earthers. Is it a new thing to be so confidant in your ignorance? I just like their shamelessness. And if they're not piloting my plane or teaching my children sure what harm.
( anti vaxxers are different because they cause needless death and misery).

We are learning more about dinosaurs all the time. Scientists definately read too much in the little bones they find, but they're in the general right track. Feathers don't fossilise or survive very well but there have been some recent discoveries of dinosaurs which clearly had feathers.

RedBlackberries · 10/03/2018 09:27

Narwhals do exist. They're tiny and plastic and can be found stuck to the front of Octonaughts magazines.

user1471596238 · 10/03/2018 09:38

I have no problem with the concept of dinosaurs or the fact that the earth is a round object (with bulge in the middle). The limitless nature of the universe or even if it does have a limit but that beyond it lies nothingness is an impossible one for me to wrap the grey matter around because our brains are conditioned to everything having a finite point.

GabsAlot · 10/03/2018 09:39

cake people?

what like battenberg or something

gamerwidow · 10/03/2018 10:24

It’s a misconception that we evolved from monkeys as they are today what is true as far as we understand though is that we share a common ancestor.

BertrandRussell · 10/03/2018 10:26

If humans evolved from monkeys why are there still monkeys?

Grin
SleepingInYourFlowerbed · 10/03/2018 10:30

Whoever said only birds were left after dinosaurs died out might want to look into the history of mammals...

BertrandRussell · 10/03/2018 10:32

Can I share one of my all time favourite videos? I still sometimes can’t help wondering if it’s a spoof, but it isn’t!

SomethingNarstyInTheWoodshed · 10/03/2018 10:39

I hate bananas. Nasty alien things. Neither crunchy nor juicy. Abominable.
