To think the Beckham kids are never off a plane or go to school ?

I mean seriously- they appear to be such frequent flyers esp transatlantic. The whole clan en masse in NYC /LA or wherever. I mean how do they cope with the jet lag and attend school full time. It appears so cleverly packaged the celebrity extended family. Also cant link but todays pictures of VB wearing a baby pink stripy curtain. She looks so dead pan all the time and unhappy
Wish she would just ditch the sunglasses !

Mr Beckham was “excellent”at Maths, was he? Oh the power of anecdotal evidence!
I. Am.Convinced.

Yeah southeastdweller I have now, after I typed my initial response to her 15:12 post. That's why I apologised for missing her flounce

i bet she's still reading

southeastdweller · 07/03/2018 22:03

OK. Good you can understand now then...

BitOutOfPractice · 07/03/2018 22:07

Understand what? Why she won't answer?

almondfinger · 07/03/2018 22:12

I love therm. I always have since I say them on with Borat. She seemed very witty.

I love her clothing line and wish I could afford it.

Listened to David's Desert Island disc session yesterday and like them even more.

Yes there are multi millionaires, but it's through hard work. Every one who posted that has met them had only positive things to say. I'm taking that as further encouragement that they are actually decent people who have done very well for themselves.

Thank Christ I'm not famous!

DBs uncle taught me at school - there are definitely brains in that family!

I can’t find anything to slag the Beckhams off for tbh. They work, they have seemingly raised nice kids, they don’t hurt others as far as I know? What more do people want?

southeastdweller · 07/03/2018 22:25

I think tax dodging makes DB fair game to be slagged off at any available opportunity, personally.

StarUtopia · 07/03/2018 22:28

Had a very flirty moment with DB back in 1998 in Manchester - he's divine in real life!!! :D

I think their kids are lovely. I don't think normal rules apply in a celeb family tbh. I also know someone who has done work for them and feedback is that they're very friendly and down to earth.

cindersrella · 07/03/2018 22:34

Who cares. They probably have private tutors. I would definatley be backwards and forwards with my children if work depended on it.

Maremaremare · 07/03/2018 23:24

Harper is at a selective girls' prep in South Ken (along with Stella McCartney's daughter) - I presume she has to keep up with the school work as it's quite a rigorously academic school.

AlonsosLeftPinky · 08/03/2018 01:44

Some people on here are nuts! Why would anyone have such strong opinions on what facial expression a stranger should have?

I think personally they seem a normal family (my own experience of having been in their company) though obviously their lifestyle matches their means, as it does with most of us.

They have many numerous positive points and I honestly cannot understand the vitriol that some have towards them.

Most of us, if we had the means, would open doors for our children in whatever field took their fancy, surely??

And I use every method I can to reduce the amount of tax I pay so I'll not be getting all up in arms over someone doing similar.

No, any sensible parent does not “open doors” for their young children, into “whatever field they fancy”.

Sensible parents make sure their dc build up skills and experiences in their chosen field and if they show genuine talent, can pursue that field.

happyvalley74 · 08/03/2018 12:01

Every so often on the TES or BSA jobs website you see families looking for private tutors.

90k a year plus, own car in three countries, travelling all over the world by private jet every other week.... all to tutor one kid through GCSEs.

I wouldn't do it though!

Yvest · 08/03/2018 13:18

I remember seeing a programme they were in years ago and they were being filmed in a hotel room and there was a travel cot next to the bed and I remember VB saying that it might be nice if Brooklyn slept in the cot occasionally rather than in her bed. Nobody knows what goes on in their home but it’s a fairly safe bet that when the kids wake up in the night they’re going to want their mum or dad. As I said before, I know lots of people who know them and without exception I’ve heard that both VB and DB and the kids are very nice and the kids are in school every day. If they’re ever photographed travelling it’s always during private school holidays, without exception

Nelly1727 · 08/03/2018 13:51

I really like both of them and do think she gets a particularly hard time. I know someone who has worked for them and said they were both very down to earth, polite and raising their kids to be the same. Good luck to them.

carryondoctor · 08/03/2018 14:05

I can't be too specific because it's outing, but certainly when he was playing for Man Utd, DB was a really lovely man. There was one occasion where my father arranged for his daughter's friend to watch the team train as she loved man Utd and esp DB. The daughter had severe cerebral palsy and couldn't talk, and her parents had sadly been told she didn't have a long life expectancy. When someone told DB, he didn't just say hi or give her an autograph - he came over after training and spent the next hour or so chatting to her. She was absolutely made-up!

Another family friend lived in the same block of flats as they did in Cheshire, and he said that DB was cool but VB was very up herself and could often be heard shrieking at DB for doing things wrong.

The kids aren't living a normal life, and money is never going to be an issue for them.
