To think the Beckham kids are never off a plane or go to school ?

I mean seriously- they appear to be such frequent flyers esp transatlantic. The whole clan en masse in NYC /LA or wherever. I mean how do they cope with the jet lag and attend school full time. It appears so cleverly packaged the celebrity extended family. Also cant link but todays pictures of VB wearing a baby pink stripy curtain. She looks so dead pan all the time and unhappy

They do go to school, I’ve friends with children in their class. Again, I’ve only heard good things, that both parents are very nice, that the children are very well mannered and that they do lots of normal play dates etc. Their travelling appears to be only in school holidays.

A few years ago I was wondering through our local park and came across a school sports day. On looking more carefully I realised it was Romeo’s prep and David and Victoria were on the sidelines cheering. It all seemed v normal, or at least it was normal until all us local mums texted our local mates and soon every mother in the neighbourhood found a reason to rush their buggies to the park and gasp.

DB seems happy enough to fund his family's vanity projects so far.

I'm sure another trio of bought careers won't break him.

They're never going to have or need 'proper' jobs, I think mum and dad will finance their entire lives so I wouldn't worry about.

Friend of mine met DB with Harper at an event her nursery school. So she obviously has a place somewhere. He was apparently lovely. Politely asked if photos etc could wait till after the event as he was spending time with his DD and then did photos, autographs etc afterwards very charmingly.

There are often pics of harper in her school inform. She wears a purple stripy summer dress and last week she was in a school pinafore and stripy shirt.

Brooklyn doesn't turn up for his lectures at art school in NYC that's for sure. Pity the poor kid that didn't get a place in favour of him.

But Brooklyn is a published artiste, Roly.

He probably has a thing or two to teach the lecturers.

Yes I doubt they are in economy seats struggling to sleep because the man in front has his seat reclined and the little boy behind has a whistle..

@Toomanytealights The thing with the state system is you need to do all or nothing. If you want to pick and choose you need to go private, or home ed, or whatever.

But if you want to use the state system you need to turn up every day so the rest of the class isn't disrupted by your DC not being there for the start of an Art project, or a test, or a continuing group activity, or whatever.

I read somewhere that Brooklyn had dropped out or was deferring to go do an internship with some high end photographer.

An interesting point, OP. Education has intrinsic value and if they do not succeed in that area, then they have failed. People like them might find that this is the only area which is inaccessible to them. After all, brains cannot be bought. Quite amusing really.

Rumours about Daddy Beckham? Surely not...

They go to Wetherby don't they? Friends' DSs have been to inter-school football matches and David has been there. I know they tried to get them all into the Harrodian School in Barnes, but the school didn't want the attention or security issues. There was talk and excitement among the girls that Romeo sat the 11 plus for Latymer Upper but didn't get through.

They left wetherby a couple of years ago.

I've met them both, recently, away from their public life. I was nobody important to the day (just had some paperwork to be signed by someone else) but they both acknowledged me shook, my hand and were very pleasant. VB is quite giggly and does smile a lot... I suspect deadpan has always been her Posh face, all for the cameras.

They smell nice... but I was told they have their own perfumes, so they probably should

MN is continually (and rightly) infuriated by men shouting at random women in the street to “smile Love!”

Why should Victoria Beckham have to beam with smiles every second of the day if we don’t expect other women to?

I certainly don’t walk through an airport grinning after a flight.

Teen there is no disruption if a kid doesn't turn up for art.They just miss out. The rule is alledgedly in the interest of the child. Rich kids being able to buy themselves out and enjoy even more enrichment on top of the privileges and holidays they already enjoy is unfair. Anybody can be a tutor,why can't parents tutor when an opportunity turns up they don't want their kids to miss? It should be the same rule for everybody. If it's in the interest if disruption or child welfare it should be the same rule for everybody rich or poor.

I know it probably helped being married to David Beckham but anyone who forges a career from laughing stock "solo artist" to big name fashion designer has to be admired! She could have easily hung off the back of her husbands success and lived life known solely as an ex-spice girl but she didn't, she made a name for herself in fashion (whether you like the fashion or not is not the point.)
