My mum has been a SAHM for as long as I’ve been born (I’m 27 this year) but before that she was a taxi driver, she lives off benefits and PIP now. My dad I think is unemployed. But he’s worked at the chicken factory, other factories and did bus driving for a long time, I think he’s been a lorry driver and he often goes sailing as part of a crew on a tall ship. Not sure if he gets paid for this or not.

DM was a secretary in an insurance office, my DGF was her boss, my DF (his son) was one of the reps.

DM was then a SAHM for about 15 years, then a doctor's receptionist.

DF stayed as an insurance rep. Until the internet came along and took his job.

DF was a farm manager. He retired, fell ill and was dead before 70.

DM was a teacher but gave up when she married DF. She then did book keeping for years from home and when we left home got a job one day a week doing the books for a pub.
