My father was a Head of a Quality control Department in an Engineering firm, my mother gave up work when she married and never worked after the age of 22.

Dad (now retired) has various jobs including factory work, forklift driver, shop worker, royal mint worker

Both of my parents were ministers. People used to say to my mother, ‘Are you Rev’d Bunz wife?’ And she would reply, ‘No, I AM Rev’d Bunz!’ with a chuckle.

Dad was a farmer and my mum stayed at home and helped my Dad.

Dad was a farm labourer, after he died, mum took on cleaning jobs, and then became a home carer before ill health forced her to stop working in her 50's.

My dad - an ex gambler - is the manager of a bookies, my mum was a hairdresser.

My dad trained to be a cobbler, but had to supplement this by working as a hospital porter.

My mum's last job was as a carer working for Social Services. Prior to that she had been a cleaner, print shop worker, lift girl in John Lewis in Leeds, land-army worker, and others.

Dad was a toolmaker (skilled metal-worker) from early in my childhood; previously worked on a car assembly line. Mum was what was then called a clerk-typist and later more a general secretarial person for a couple of one-man businesses.

Insurance claims handler and Part Exchange Manager for various house builders. They had both retired by 60.

My dad is an engineer and has been since he left university.

My mum also has a degree in engineering, but has had various jobs including engineer, tutoring, and IT support. She also had about 10 years as a SAHM.

Dad : Lorry driver.
Mum : part time shop worker.

We were as working class as they come.

Both originally Civil Service. Mum was SAH while we were young and then got a job working for OFSTED when I was about 14, which she kept until retirement. Father stayed in Civil Service right through to retirement.

They are both dead now but my Dad was an engineering inspector and my Mum was a bank clerk.

Mum was a teacher when we were kids, but worked her way up to a senior management role in a large educational organisation, then took early retirement and worked as a consultant for the Dept of Education.

Dad was a builder.

Stepdad is a university professor.

Mum is a bookkeeper and I have absolutely no idea what my dad does to be honest. I think it's something to do with sales. It's well paid. (I'm not being self centred, we aren't close)
