To think eating a whole tub of ice cream isn’t normal?

I don’t like the word normal but I couldn’t think of anything else.

Now I can have my piggy moments and binge.

We were talking about takeaways and a friend said she could easily and does eat an entire tub of ice cream with her dominos pizza.

Do other people do this?

I can and quite often do put a whole tub away after a supermarket pizza and half a garlic baguette. Normally on a Friday night. It's not something I'm proud of however and would never admit it in 'public'. Yes, I am obese.

ImNotWhoYouThinkIAmOhNo · 02/03/2018 23:43

Never have. And probably never will, now. At my age, my metabolism is practically in reverse. If I so much as look at a chocolate biscuit I put on 5lb or so it seems.

There was a recent thread about people eating loads of crisps on a daily basis.

Tempted, but can't.

not jealous

FreeNiki · 02/03/2018 23:48

I worked in a haagen daaz as a student. There are about 5-6 large scoops of ice cream in one of those tubs. People regularly eat 2 scoops so it is about triple what you'd normally have.

I dont think I could do it after a pizza or at all. It's too sickly.

TrappedInSpace · 02/03/2018 23:50

I'd be fine if it's a tub of theatre size!

Niceandwarmandhot · 02/03/2018 23:57

Ben and jerry yes, but I tended just to pull out the chunks after the first 1/4 or so (hello phish food and chunky monkey and cookie dough!) and bin the rest. But not after a pizza.

These days I really have to watch my sugars. The carb count in a pizza and then a whole tub of ice cream makes my pancreas quake!

manicinsomniac · 03/03/2018 00:10

I think its normal. Not healthy but normal. This thread backs that up. It doesn't have to be something that most people would do to count as normal - just something that plenty of people would do.

I can easily do it. I'd purge afterwards because I'd be afraid of the calories but that doesnt affect the fact that my stomach could hold it.

I couldn't manage a whole pizza though. To me that's much more filling and a much bigger volume of food. But nobody would think eating an entire pizza abnormal.

Ice cream's no different really. They're both just foods

Dieu · 03/03/2018 00:18

Yep, I could easily manage a whole pizza and tub of ice-cream but then I'm a fat, greedy bitch

willsa · 03/03/2018 00:23

We are a family of four and a tub of ice cream lasts us a week easily. And we all have VERY hearty appetites! If it's Ben&Jerrys' I usually manage to save all the cookie dough pieces for the following week as after-dinner treats.
Eating tub a day most certainly isn't normal.

PorkFlute · 03/03/2018 00:28

Eating a tablespoon full of ice cream each for pudding and picking the pieces out to save as separate treasures doesn’t constitute a hearty appetite!

HuskyMcClusky · 03/03/2018 00:32

But nobody would think eating an entire pizza abnormal.

I would, and do, if it’s a Dominos-type pizza - thick crust and full of cheese. Pizza Express thin crust one, not so much.

I’d have eaten a full tub of ice cream when I had a binge-eating disorder. It’s not normal.

halfwitpicker · 03/03/2018 00:33

I don't do this. I know people who do though.

A large pizza and a tub of ice cream? That's a serious amount of calories.

halfwitpicker · 03/03/2018 00:35

Did you understand the thread?
^

Sorry but lol Grin

FrozenMargarita17 · 03/03/2018 00:36

I've been doing slimming world for 4 weeks and I absolutely could down a whole tub of ice cream with cake, biscuits, chocolate, and a huge cheese pizza.

I'm hungry.

TheOriginalEmu · 03/03/2018 00:38

is it normal? i dunno
can i do it? yes, no problem.

SnowBusinessLikeSlowBusiness · 03/03/2018 00:42

But nobody would think eating an entire pizza abnormal.

I think most people would. We get 2 dominoes pizzas for 6 of us.

halfwitpicker · 03/03/2018 00:43

I couldn't eat a full block of cheese, a full dominos pizza or a full bottle of wine.

I could eat a full tub of ice cream, several choc bars and I dread to think how many of those American style cookies... At least 8 if I let go. I don't though. Don't even have any of that in the house.

Hmm

How's that even possible. Six scoops in a tub. So four people eat it for a week. That's 28 servings, which means a quarter of a scoop each, per serving, which is about two teaspoons. Then you pick out the chunks and what instead of the two teaspoons of icecream they get a little chunk of cookie dough from the previous weeks icecream, which are about half a thimble size? And you think this is eating heartily. Confused

Some mad shit on this thread. Most grown adults have the stomach capacity to eat six scoops of ice cream. 🤣

WHY? thats all i have. just, WHY????

Isjaki · 03/03/2018 00:56

Are tubs of ice-cream the new magical chickens?

HuskyMcClusky · 03/03/2018 01:12

The picking out & saving the cookie dough pieces is just fucking weird.

I'm sorry but this made me snigger so much Grin

Saved bits from the ice cream tub as after dinner 'treats'? Are you kidding and I've missed the sarcasm? That is revolting! That doesn't sound like a healthy dynamic with food either, tbh.

Elllicam · 03/03/2018 02:09

I ate a medium pan from Pizza Hut with cheese triangles and a full tub of ice cream last night. It was nice. I could do with some gaviscon now though.

Saracen · 03/03/2018 02:14

I nearly could, so I don't think it is odd.

Couldn't manage it after much pizza. Also can't do the whole tub in one go but need to revisit it over the course of an hour or two to let it settle.

I wouldn't think twice about someone else eating pizza and following it with a tub of ice cream. Not the best idea, sure, but not downright shocking either.

hoolipoo · 03/03/2018 02:17

Jesus Christ, no. You've got a problem with food if you do this IMO. Sounds vile.
