Broken down motorists and no booze

Cut to the chase. Live remotely on a hill and the drive runs down to the main road, which is starting to clog up due to an awesome snow storm and we are a long way either direction to neighboring towns. The fires are lit (we have two, not a stealth boast just frickin cold) and the house looks warm and inviting from the road. Have had stranded motorists before and put them up for the night. Big problem - no booze.

What can we do?

two bottles of Prosecco left over from New Year.

YABVU to have leftover Prosecco from 2 months ago.

My first two stranded motorists are here, I have a bed for them. Lovely couple.

But, I just cannot believe it. I have really screwed up big time. Please don't flame me.

Here I am, locked into my frozen house on the top of this cold, frozen windswept hill, and I now have Tia Maria and Whisky, two guests, but no ice. Where the heck am I supposed to get ice from this time of night.

This day is getting worse.

Panic not! Surely being rural they'll be the odd cats water bowl outside the backdoor? That'll be nicely frozen.

What, you don't have an American fridge with ice maker? YABVU.

In our village, most people drink more than us (judging from the state of the recycling boxes) and so would be more hospitable. We do have a bottle of rum and three cans of cider though.

I even have ice cubes in the freezer. As well as aforementioned spirits and wine, I have half a bottle of ready made cosmopolitan, tequila, greens ginger wine, posh flavoured vodka, limoncello, amaretto and jungfrau - now that is warming.

Right. I've organised a tractor and 24-seater trailer. Who is for gatecrashing @Justwanttosayplease's rocky horror party?????

Thank you iklboo I found a lovely patch, it's a bit yellow, so will add to the colour of the drinks.

Great idea SweetMoon do you think it will be safe, I prefer the yellow patch of snow the dog was sniffing earlier when it wagged its tail so profusely.

Ice cannot be an issue. My garden is a frozen wasteland. Have some of my ice.
