Broken down motorists and no booze

Cut to the chase. Live remotely on a hill and the drive runs down to the main road, which is starting to clog up due to an awesome snow storm and we are a long way either direction to neighboring towns. The fires are lit (we have two, not a stealth boast just frickin cold) and the house looks warm and inviting from the road. Have had stranded motorists before and put them up for the night. Big problem - no booze.

What can we do?

No booze in the house is a serious problem especially if you are planning rescuing strangers who might turn out to be tedious in the extreme.

The only things I can think of in the circumstances are try an emergency supermarket delivery and stock up well for next time making sure to hide the stash from others in the meantime.

We are about down to 18 bottles of various types of hooch so we might survive the the Beast but then I don’t plan on having open house as we are not on the he way to anywhere except perdition.

SW1 1AA Harry Rodds is that you? Meet you on the lower ground floor - to discuss food and wine sit-rep. Will you be leaving the outside lights on for ease of locating you? Btw I keep a very nice Glenlivet in my Winter Emergency Kit in the car boot.

P.s. will the corgis be free range during our stay?

Is OP still alive, have they all come down with D&V from years old tia maria? Has odd couple bumped her off as she’s uncovered their illicit affair?
