To ask how you met your DP?

My lovely friend is very down. She’s been Internet dating for a few months and now believes all men are, as Bridget Jones once said: alcoholics, workaholics, commitment phobics, peeping toms, megalomaniacs, emotional fuckwits or perverts.

She’s deleted all her accounts and is now looking for real life alternatives.

Could I ask you clever lot how you met and wooed your partners please?

At a punk gig in Camden in 2007. I almost didn’t go but my mate persuaded me. How different life would have been if I’d stayed home that night.

In a nightclub! Got on like a house on fire and spent most of the night chatting in the smoking area before going back to his for a shag. 4 years on and I wouldn’t swap that drunken night for the world!

I met my Oh at the crematorium. I excused myself after a family members funeral to have a few minutes to myself, sat on a bench. He sat next to me on the bench before his friends funeral which he was early for. We chatted for around an hour and thought that would be the last I ever seen of him. Bumped into him 2 weeks later in a pub over 50 miles away from home and he asked me out on a date the next week and the rest was history.
A very strange scenario but still very happy 6 years later and a baby, I believe that fate brought us together.

Work- sat across from each other when we both started at a new job. Became really good friends and then it just happened naturally. We not have DS, 9 months old :)

That turned into several one night stands, a ten year relationship, five year marriage and several babies.

Moved in with his best friend.

I had to move to be closer to work and his friend had a spare room advertised on gumtree.

It wasn't an immediate thing as i was seeing someone else. 9 months after meeting him, we were engaged and a few years on we are married and have 2 kids.

In a bomb shelter on the West Bank back in 1993. Been together ever since that night. Married 23 years now. Even have a grandchild. 😊

We met in an online game (Lord of the Rings Online) about 6 years ago, both from different countries. We eventually battled the distance and moved in together. Now married with baby on the way.

At a mutual friends 18th birthday party - 10 years later and we are as happy as Larry, married, second baby on the way! Took us more than 3 months to go on our first date tho - I didn’t feel ready.

Think not putting pressure on yourself is probably the best way to meet someone and being open to new experiences as well!

We worked together for 10 years in a very close setting. Been together 4.5 years, married for 2.5. Incredibly happy. Lots of my friends have had success on my single friend dot com.
