He is a week old today. Has open wounds on his groin area and armpit, they are weeping. We washed and gently patted dry. However he has started sweating alot through his outfit on to my clothes. He is only wearing a onsie and the room isn't warm, I'm chilly. He also isn't feeding I'm struggling to get an ounce of milk out of him when usually his milk stops his crying straight away and gets at least 2 ounces easily. He just projectile vomited all over me. I don't want to go a and e because he's still crying loudly so they will say he is fine. Am i overreacting??

Never be scared of getting medical help for the tiny babies!

How do you you know they will say he's crying so bugger off.. Your not medical expert... I have always erred on side of caution.. Even called ambulance.. Always they said I absolutely did the 100% right thing

I hope you've managed to get him to hospital op. I was an A&E nurse for many years and now a student HV. I always tell the new parents I visit that if their baby is unwell and they think "should I go to A&E?" then that's a yes and to go. No one minds seeing a well baby whose parents need reassurance, rather that than a sick baby whose parents didn't want to bother anyone.

Please keep us posted when you can. I really hope everything is ok and that you are currently being seen to in a and e. Flowers

Bastardingcough · 01/03/2018 10:29

I really hope you and baby are being cared for appropriately now. I cannot believe you were discharged after four hours with no follow up MW visit after a high risk pregnancy?! It's shocking!! Where in the country are you OP?

BrutusMcDogface · 01/03/2018 10:30

Gosh I'm glad you've gone to a-&e. Hope all is ok with your little one Flowers

Hi, hun

This sounds serious. Do go to the doctor's office, just to be sure... Please let us know what happens.

Echoing what everyone has said and hope your baby was seen in A&E. The Dr's would rather seen 99 anxious parents with a well baby and reassure them that miss even 1 baby who needs help. Trust your instincts. Xx

Joining on with the well wishing.

Thanks
