He is a week old today. Has open wounds on his groin area and armpit, they are weeping. We washed and gently patted dry. However he has started sweating alot through his outfit on to my clothes. He is only wearing a onsie and the room isn't warm, I'm chilly. He also isn't feeding I'm struggling to get an ounce of milk out of him when usually his milk stops his crying straight away and gets at least 2 ounces easily. He just projectile vomited all over me. I don't want to go a and e because he's still crying loudly so they will say he is fine. Am i overreacting??

Reflection no deflection!

BedtimeTea · 01/03/2018 05:09

I would take him in immediately. It sounds like alarming. Hang in there, good luck.

Someonehelpmi · 01/03/2018 05:13

@snowy hope your little one is ok now! The same happened to us before when he was jaundice last week we made such a big fuss as soon as we got to triage the sun had helped his jaundice and he had a nice full nappy/feeding well etc

I think I'm just more worried as my pregnancy was high risk and consultant led care but I was discharged from hospital 4 hours after giving birth with no advice and no-one came to check up on him the next day.

Not sure how well manage to get to hospital we have 2 inches of snow and ice all over the road Sad such perfect timing I'm going to call 111 and see if they recommend an ambulance

Ignore that random "like".

Snowysky20009 · 01/03/2018 05:16

Remember to tell them everything on the phone- infections, dry nappies, sweating, minimal feeds, vomiting xx

Snowysky20009 · 01/03/2018 05:18

Where we are in wales it's a min of 6 hours before being realised and midwife sees you the next few days every day. Shows how care differs in places!

Nestofvipers · 01/03/2018 05:52

Go to A&E straight away. I don’t wish to make you more worried than you already are, but both infections and sepsis can present like this in babies so based on what you’ve written, I don’t think you should wait around.

relaxitllbeok · 01/03/2018 05:59

What Snowy says is important: Remember to tell them everything on the phone- infections, dry nappies, sweating, minimal feeds, vomiting. I hope they were helpful, but if you couldn't get through or felt they brushed you off - especially if you think you missed off any of that list - call 999.

Devilishpyjamas · 01/03/2018 06:01

Definitely get seen.

StressedOut1701 · 01/03/2018 06:04

Hope everything's ok and your DC gets seen Flowers

coffeemugged · 01/03/2018 06:07

I hope all is well OPThanks

ChocolateButton15 · 01/03/2018 06:07

I would call the 24hour number in your maternity notes, they will get you straight on the ward rather than waiting in a&e. I have a 3 week old and they said ANY problems ring the 24 hour line. Has any midwife been out to see you? They should have come 2-3 times by now?

bumbleymummy · 01/03/2018 06:08

Glad to see you’re taking him in. It definitely sounds like something that needs to be checked out and I don’t think you’ll be wasting their time at all.

ohlittlepea · 01/03/2018 06:17

Deffo get checked asap. do you have any friends or neighbours with 4x4s who could take you?

KimchiLaLa · 01/03/2018 06:20

I think I'm just more worried as my pregnancy was high risk and consultant led care but I was discharged from hospital 4 hours after giving birth with no advice and no-one came to check up on him the next day.*

That's crazy. I had someone come every day day for ten days - they asked me whether I wanted it and I said yes. Just go.

Angrybird345 · 01/03/2018 06:22

Definitely go to A&E!!!!

IHATEPeppaPig · 01/03/2018 06:24

Hope everything's okay OP Thanks

honeysucklejasmine · 01/03/2018 06:28

TooGood2BeFalse · 01/03/2018 06:44

Thinking of you and your baby OP Flowers Hope all is ok

ThumbWitchesAbroad · 01/03/2018 07:03

Hope you went to A&E and your baby is being looked after now - none of that sounds right so you need to get him checked over. Thanks

gnarlington · 01/03/2018 07:06

Hope your little one is ok and you got to hospital safely.

Fletchasaurus · 01/03/2018 07:07

Thinking of you and baby. Hope they could help!

Hotpinkangel19 · 01/03/2018 07:10

Hope baby is okay

FellOutOfBed2wice · 01/03/2018 07:10

I hope you got to hospital and everything was okay. It’s scary when they’re so little.

MissWimpyDimple · 01/03/2018 07:15

Jeez. I'm not an over reactor. Go to A&E with him.
