To think you don’t beep your horn at pedestrians with sleeping children in prams?

Just had a total arsehole do this to me, when we were crossing the road. Apparently I wasn’t moving fast enough and I got a mouthful of abuse too.

You don’t do that, do you? I have joint pain, severe pain and depression and DS is ASD and I’d just got him to sleep.

Why do some people enjoy being such knobs to others?

*And if I am walking in the road for whatever reason, if a car shows up in the distance, I speed up to hit the other side faster.

Why? You were there first. They can wait.*

bring me a fork, someone bring me a fork....

CatsForgotPassword · 25/02/2018 17:02

They’re in a warm car. I’m outside in the cold. They can wait.

MaisyPops · 25/02/2018 17:02

Thank God my other half has an LLB, because I would ruin their fucking lives
Annnd there we have it. I want to do what I like, take zero responsibility for my actions and then when people point out the consequences of your actions you claim you'd 'ruin their fucking lives'.

I see we are in the wonderful age of personal responsibility. (And now I know why daytime TV is full of 'did you trip over a wonky pavement? Claim with the council because you couldn't pick your feet up' adverts).

CatsForgotPassword · 25/02/2018 17:03

Maisy yeah if someone drives like a dickhead and so much as touched me, or my son, I would take them for everything I could.

Serves them right for not taking 5 seconds to be decent.

Lol! This has to be a wind up!! Nobody is this self entitled and daft.

upsideup · 25/02/2018 17:05

And I did nothing wrong.

You crossed irresponsably and put you and your child in serious danger. Does it really matter if it was your fault or not when one of you gets hit and killed?
Im not going to be teaching my children that they should just cross the road whenever or wherever they want because i they do end up dead it wont be their fault and the driver will go to prison. You shouldnt put your child out in front of a car anymore than you would put them out in front a convicted murderer, it might not be their fault if they get killed but why would you take that risk?

CatsForgotPassword · 25/02/2018 17:05

All you have to do is not drive like a cunt, it’s not hard.

OP posts:
CatsForgotPassword · 25/02/2018 17:06

I didn’t cross irresponsibly. I crossed where there were no cars, I live in a normal town that doesn’t have 2000000 pedestrian crossings.

Strange, as Tort is usually the first module delivered.

I'm really sorry OP, but I don't believe you. If you had studied the law around negligence (including the concepts of Contrib and Volenti) you would be able to see that you are in the wrong here.

DullAndOld · 25/02/2018 17:07

well as you don't drive, I don't think you are qualified to comment on what constitutes 'driving like a cunt' tbh.
Why don't you go off and have some lessons so that you can be a real grown up?

CatsForgotPassword · 25/02/2018 17:08

Why would I care if someone online believed me? Nothing I did amounts to contributory negligence.

OP posts:
upsideup · 25/02/2018 17:08

I crossed where there were no car

Again it was a likely possibiltity that a car could turn up whilst you were still in the middle of the road, which it did.
Also again why would you risk your childs life just because you can?

CatsForgotPassword · 25/02/2018 17:09

Why don't you go off and have some lessons so that you can be a real grown up?

And here we have drivers shitting on pedestrians.

OP posts:
MaisyPops · 25/02/2018 17:09

This has to be a wind up!! Nobody is this self entitled and daft
Yeaaah. Now it's not just 'driver should have known my medical history and the fact my child is sleeping' to calling people cunts and ruining their fucking lives.
Grin

Julie8008 · 25/02/2018 17:09

They’re in a warm car. I’m outside in the cold. They can wait.

And that is why you got beeped at. Because you were negligent by not crossing in a safe manner and putting everyone in danger. Be thankful the driver was paying attention and able to stop safely. Next time find a more appropriate place to cross and stop acting like you own the roads, your an accident waiting to happen.

upsideup · 25/02/2018 17:10

Nothing I did amounts to contributory negligence.

Who fucking cares when you or your child have been hit by are car and killed?

DullAndOld · 25/02/2018 17:10

" And here we have drivers shitting on pedestrians."

Grin nope, as I recall, I have never shat upon anyone. Tempting though.

MaisyPops · 25/02/2018 17:11

But upside it was chilly so you know... sometimes we just really need to walk out at a junction.

430West · 25/02/2018 17:11

How sad for your DS.

I genuinely wish him (and you) all the luck in the world.

CatsForgotPassword · 25/02/2018 17:12

Who fucking cares when you or your child have been hit by are car and killed?

It’s a road in a built up area not the M1. Plus like I said, my partner would ensure anyone who did that would regret very much their impatience and flat out disrespect.

OP posts:
CatsForgotPassword · 25/02/2018 17:13

I think what I find most annoying about this is the disrespect actually.

OP posts:
DullAndOld · 25/02/2018 17:14

right so in a built up area the speed limit would have been 30. Therefore you must have a)not been looking and b) walking really slowly.

CatsForgotPassword · 25/02/2018 17:15

Neither. I’m pretty sure the driver was going over the limit but obviously I can’t confirm that

OP posts:
Julie8008 · 25/02/2018 17:16

Imagine teaching your children the improved green cross code.

  1. If your cold, step out on the road, you have right of way.
  2. First come first served, get your foot on the road first and you are good to go.
  3. When crossing at junctions and bends if you can't see a car it cant kill you.
Aridane · 25/02/2018 17:16

I’m sorry you were upset by the impatient driver and for your current problems. However, if you are a bit slow with joint pain - and have small child in buggy ( which will slow down) - I think you need to cross when the lights are on red for traffic
