I remember that one @DesertSky. The OP seemed determined not to believe that her bf was up to anything underhand.

DesertSky · 24/02/2018 21:44

Aaaahh I found the thread! It was fondly known as the Captain Wentworth post! Highly amusing read! Grin

Yes princess! Those started by DM are fairly obvious. I just ignore.

That doesn’t make any sense though. The ones that end up in the DM are popular threads with lots of replies and “controversy” which is why a story is created around it.

DesertSky · 24/02/2018 21:45

Or Spunkle Wentworth rather! Ha!

Oldbutstillgotit · 24/02/2018 21:55

Mexican house thief and Korean woman in garden .

The "line eyes" ones for me. I rarely see a line and feel there must be lots of disappointment for people after being told by others on MN that they definitely see a line.

gillybeanz · 24/02/2018 22:02

The obvious journo ones, well, you just know..........

op posts aibu

the whole thread yes you are

op-starts slagging off posters for disagreeing

whitecremeegg · 24/02/2018 22:10

threads where the person is not very subltely trying to show off their vaginas/arses/very large boobs by pretending they are talking about something else.

examples include:

"I have this spot on my bum, but I'm not going to do a close up or keep my knickers on"

"does this really tight, low cut dress with nipples showing make me look fat?"

"do I look fat in this picture where you can clearly see my blood stained sanitary pad?"

I don't know if MN ever deleted them as I didn't stay around to look. I know that other MNetters who had commented didn't seem to have noticed...Shock Hmm

LucyAutumn · 24/02/2018 22:10

Oh my YES- the fly seat! Did we ever get to the bottom of what that was!?

ANYTHING by Phyllis Nights Grin

Legwarmersareohsoeighties · 24/02/2018 22:13

(this one? Hmm)

NeganLovesLucille · 24/02/2018 22:13

Was Phyllis the one about her baby and her friends?

lecossaise · 24/02/2018 22:19

The one (million) about trans people in changing rooms.

tafftum · 24/02/2018 22:22

@DalekDalekDalek omg that one was hilarious 😂😂

Chifi · 24/02/2018 22:28

Any post started by a distressed person in need of help. It begins great with lots of sound advice, but when the OP hasn't taken immediate action to call the police or start legal proceedings the previously sound posters get on their high horses and attack the OP. OP then backs off very understandably.

MazDazzle · 24/02/2018 22:29

The tee-total bouncy castle wedding where the bride was dismayed that her friends didn’t want to take their kids along. The replies had me in stitches. It went on and on. Turned out to be a troll, so it got deleted. Shame, because it was very entertaining.

There was also another thread which had me in stitches (can’t remember what it was about though). One of the posters casually mentioned that during the Blitz, when there was an air strike, her aunt would give her lover a cheeky handjob, but using her armpit instead. If anyone knows the thread, please link it for me!

DalekDalekDalek · 24/02/2018 22:42

Christians against dinosaurs

This was the first thread I read here. I googled something and it brought me to it. I read the whole thing in one night and the next morning the muscles in my stomach were sore from laughing so much.

If anyone fancies reading it here is the link:
www.mumsnet.com/Talk/mumsnet_classics/2301982-Im-getting-sick-and-tired-of-dinosaurs-being-forced-on-our-children
The OP keeps getting banned and comes back with slightly different usernames!

tafftum · 24/02/2018 22:44

@DalekDalekDalek i just clicked on the link and read the first few replies. Already feel like I'm wheezing from laughing too much. I'll have a cracked rib by the time I've read it allGrin

Yes. I got really jumped on once when I said I didn’t see a line - how could I not see it, it’s obvious, look harder etc. I really didn’t see one though. Poor OP eventually came back and said the GP had done a test and it was negative, and it must have been a chemical pregnancy seeing as (almost) everyone agreed the test was positive when she posted - it probably caused the poor woman a lot of sadness and pain.
