.....

OP posts:

The teenage Mum mumsnetter whose baby turned out to be a teddy bear rather than an actual baby, that was definitely up there in the odd league

That sounds really sad.

The most ridiculous for me was the anti dinosaur one, which I was on when it was "live". Utterly bonkers and great fun.

I like the extreme virtue signallers. Reasonable op complains about random nutter shouting at her in a loo or turning up at her home to rant about her dhs voluntary work. Normal posters commiserate then you get the virtue signallers tying themselves in knots to imagine bizarre reasons for the bad behaviour "poor woman she may have been having a bad day / just lost her cat / gone bankrupt ".

They then explain how they, unlike the mean op, would have offered the abusive stranger an on the spot counselling session or given them their house. And how unkind and unfeeling the op must be not to have done so, unlike them.

BalloonSlayer · 28/02/2018 07:06

Hoofer the Mum didn't said anything. Just shut herself in her room apparently. That's the point of the OP's complaint. She is mystified. Which strongly indicates - the OP has Said Something. Something real bad . . . Grin

(someone on here once linked to an article which explained this phenomenon and now I can see it everywhere)

The one about a woman whose 4 yo had killed their new puppy by throwing it out the window/backdoor, she didn’t clearly explain which. Must have been a troll, but it managed to wind up dog lovers.

Yorkshirebetty · 28/02/2018 07:29

There was one last summer where a woman was a bit short of funds at the end of the month and wanted to go to a food bank. Turned out there were staples in the cupboards and lamb in the freezer, plus she did actually have some money. Many on MN encouraged her to go, clearly misunderstanding their purpose.

@WizardOfToss is she still around, not seen anything from her in a while :)

Lorddenning1 · 02/03/2018 06:52

@JaneEyre70 I commented on the listed building thread and suggested people create side thread to make songs up etc and I was lynched out of there, I wasn't interested in the ramblings on, just the OPs updates

Giraffelant · 04/03/2018 16:02

@Lorddenning1 I wish MM had the option of only seeing the OPs posts. Then you could ignore the ramblings and the "following"s, and just reveal the other posters if you needed context.

There was one before Christmas about how God raped the virgin Mary because she technically didn't consent to becoming impregnated in her dream. What the actual fuck was that poster on...

For the record everyone: it has since been discovered that 'virgin' was a mistranslation. The original word used actually meant 'partner of choice'. Meaning that Mary had CHOSEN Joseph as her husband, whereas most marriages in that time were for a family advantage/money purposes. Hence God chose Mary and Joseph to parent a child through love and not business. They had consensual sex together to make Jesus.

Ok just wanted to clear that up!
