Me again. And I think we're in spider hell. How the fuck has this happened? And what the actual fuck do I do now?

Do you have something to put next to it to compare sizes?

Yes, another pic with a ruler in would be very helpful.

I'm in SE England too, and I've never known so many spiders in the house as we've had this winter. We had one in the bathroom that was practically a pet, he was massive and used to come out and say hello whenever I went for a wee in the night.

I haven't seen him since I hoovered all the cobwebs downstairs, so I've come to the conclusion that he actually lived downstairs but came upstairs at night.

It must be hell for people who are phobic. I find them fascinating, and so does the dog.

Fingermoose · 24/02/2018 09:29

If she wasn't in your farm she'd have only laid the eggs under your bath and you'd never have known. Watch Charlotte's Web and try to think of the number of insects your new tiny spider army will kill for you Smile

Omg, I see it has laid eggs (really didn't want to look at that pic unless I had to)

Burn it. For the sake of humanity.

Please.

MimsyBorogroves · 24/02/2018 09:31

You'll have to move out, sorry.

It's their house now.

freakyspider · 24/02/2018 09:31

Sorry to pp who felt thread needed warning. Thought username and thread title bit of a giveaway.

Mrstumbletap · 24/02/2018 09:34

Is that yellow bit next to it a load of spider eggs that it has just laid?

So they are all going to hatch???

Yes! They will come out of the holes, then they will be everywhere!! 😫. Ahhhhhhhhhh

BuffysFavouriteStake · 24/02/2018 09:35

What eats spiders? apart from my cat

Can you put something hungry in there? then remove it and deny all knowledge

LeighaJ · 24/02/2018 09:35

That is pretty much the worst present ever.

freakyspider · 24/02/2018 09:35

Yes eggs. Waaahhhhh

Lovesagin · 24/02/2018 09:36

WHAT IS THAT YELLOW BIT??????

Huldas · 24/02/2018 09:36

Is that white bit it's fkn egg sac?
I am from Exeter and my earliest memory is playing in my sandbox when one of those monsters cashed across it. Probably the ancestor of your spider!
I think my arachnophobia started then. I could not have the spider farm in my house. What if farm security is breached?!

Lovesagin · 24/02/2018 09:36

Xpost again.

I didn't notice that before. Dear lord.

liz70 · 24/02/2018 09:37

"AIBU to let it out I to the garden?"

It's still ALIVE?????? ShockShockShockShockShock

freakyspider · 24/02/2018 09:37

How long have I got? Until they hatch?

OP posts:
reallyanotherone · 24/02/2018 09:38

I’m not totally up on spider reproduction but don’t you need two spiders for the eggs to hatch?

Are they like chickens where they can lay eggs with no rooster about but they are unfertilised?

UnmitigatedBollocks · 24/02/2018 09:39

Won’t the spiderlings stay with mum until they’re too big to escape through the holes or are they pretty much independent from birth?

LemonShark · 24/02/2018 09:39

Glad others think the idea of a warning is ridiculous too! Seriously, do we need warnings for anything that people may have a phobia of? Cos that's an awful lot of things Confused

As an actual arachnophobe trust me, the title containing 'spider' is enough. If you click on a post clearly about the subject of your phobia then that's on you. can't believe how much people want to/expect to be babied and sheltered sometimes.

Didiplanthis · 24/02/2018 09:39

I had something that size in my clean washing pile this week. It had hairy legs too. It escaped into my bed !!!!

freakyspider · 24/02/2018 09:39

There's a lot I don't know about spiders I am realising.

DH wants to wait until they fucking hatch and then set them free at the bottom of the garden.

You’re very sensible Lemon.

freakyspider · 24/02/2018 09:41

Thank you lemon

🤢

What does your family suggest you do when it hatches?

Your friend sounds like a villain.

AnnaleeP · 24/02/2018 09:43

Jesus. I would take it to the bottom of the garden and burn the lot tbh, plastic box and all.

stayathomegardener · 24/02/2018 09:43

Hang on this was a purchase? With actual money?
