To not want to go to sisters meal tonight?

Today is my sister's birthday and she's selected a place to go tonight to eat with the family. Instead of asking she's assumed and picked a time of half 6 to meet at hers then walk down to the place.
My D'S hasn't been very well these past few days. He has been running a high fever/irritable/clingy/snotty. We both haven't slept much. AIBU to not want to go tonight if my DS is still under the weather?
7pm is usually his bed time and the poor guy I think will be knackered! Especially eating at that late time too

Good for you! She'll just have to get over it. Ridiculous to suggest taking an ill toddler out.

YouTheCat · 23/02/2018 17:46

What expat said and also she's changed the restaurant to one where there's hardly anything your child can eat. For that alone, I'd have said no.

Iluvthe80s · 23/02/2018 17:51

Don't go

Butterymuffin · 23/02/2018 17:51

she knew he was poorly and I didn't know she was arranging anything until last night at 9pm

This here was the problem. You're definitely right to say no to this. Poorly kid comes first.

I think you made the right decision.... my dc would of crashed and burned food at 5 bed at 6.45 any time after that we just scream and wail!!

PilatesSuck · 24/02/2018 11:42

How are you today OP? Did your family try to guilt you or did they react normally?

Peachyfizz · 24/02/2018 15:00

No surprisingly they took it all fine and I've arranged to see my sis another time

Thats great Smile. You will have to say no more often, when you dont want to go.

You did the right thing, baby always comes first. Sounded like it would have been horrible for everyone with a poorly baby
