Do we need a list of what's acceptable? Grin

I do think we have reached peak 'Cheeky Fucker'. If I see that expression in a thread title-instant Hide Thread.

Frogs and feathers

I'm not familiar with that one. What does it mean?

Buggeritimgettingup · 19/02/2018 20:57

Wow just wow! Grin

PhelanThePain · 19/02/2018 21:00

Well if we’re all hating stuff then ok. I’ll throw mine in too.

I hate “draws”. I don’t give a flying monkey Wink if that’s how you and everyone you know says it or that’s how it sounds to you. That’s not how it’s spelt. It’s drawers. Spell it properly. Lol and hubby can also fuck off.

EconoWife · 19/02/2018 21:00

Oh

I misread your title as "Please stop saying "For the love of God"" and was going to resoundingly agree with you as it's a phrase that I find both silly and irritating.

Ah well

SnowsInApril · 19/02/2018 21:01

I've had enough of it all too. I think it just means I've been on mumsnet the internet too much though.

Notso · 19/02/2018 21:01

I think we are MrsKoala, I am no fan of the rage or itchy teeth either.

Also on my list is 'are you on glue?' although it seems to have lost its popularity a bit.

TheOnlyLivingBoyInNewCross · 19/02/2018 21:02

I hate “each to their own” and don’t even know why Grin

ohfortuna · 19/02/2018 21:03

I used to hate been there done that got the t-shirt but thankfully no one says it anymore 🤣😄

user1499786242 · 19/02/2018 21:07

Ducks in a row
No idea why but it kills me

ChasedByBees · 19/02/2018 21:08

I love that expression.

reallybadidea · 19/02/2018 21:08

It's better than 'cue'. Or even worse 'que'.

Agerbilatemycardigan · 19/02/2018 21:10

Fishes and bicycles
Sows' ears and silk purses

Risen · 19/02/2018 21:10

Get a SHL/lawyer up is the most cringe though

Whenever anyone says it on here, I always imagine an American accent. 'Get a reliable solicitor' just doesn't have the same ring to it...on here, anyway Grin

ImAPeppermintNightmare · 19/02/2018 21:15

"Hivemind" used as a greeting on facebook, eg, "Hivemind, tell me where to get my car fixed. And..... GO." For the love of god, it really boils my piss.

TheLovelyHorse · 19/02/2018 21:27

I worked with a woman once who used 'We are where we are'. Another person on the team pretended he thought it was the most amazing and profound thing he'd ever heard post-Buddha - and she fell for it and kept saying it, and he kept repeating it back to her almost genuflecting, and I had to bribe him with strong lager in the end to just stop.

MrsKoala · 19/02/2018 21:28

i'd blocked out 'are you on glue?' I was on the original thread it came from and it was only mildly mirthsome then. Certainly not worth repeating.

Discuss

Baaaaaaaaaaaa · 19/02/2018 21:37

“Talk me down” gets me every time - SOOOOOO over dramatic Grin

Notso · 19/02/2018 21:42

Hate discuss. Bog off your not my teacher.

I've never heard Hivemind and hope I never do again as I'm getting shudders picturing a honeycomb brain. However I do hate the 'tell me where to get my car fixed. And....GO' above, just fucking google it!

Gaelforce · 19/02/2018 21:59

A friend uses ''twas ever thus" at some wacky moments. e.g Me: tea or coffee? Her: "'twas ever thus".
Makes me smile now because it's just so..off.

OkPedro · 19/02/2018 22:10

Exdp always finds the opportunity to throw in a " in no way, shape or form"
I have no idea why I hate it so much!

Or "he's coming on leaps and bounds" I can't take it seriously, sounds like the person is talking about a rabbit

OkPedro · 19/02/2018 22:12

notso Honey comb brain 🤢🤢🤢

NewYearNiki · 19/02/2018 22:13

Nie mój cyrk, nie moje małpy . . . literally, "not my circus, not my monkey"

A Polish proverb Ive never heard anyone use off here.

BadLad · 19/02/2018 22:41

This too shall pass.

End of.
