2yo drank persil

Just got in from long journey home from weekend away. Was getting DSs supper ready, turned round to find him drinking from the persil bottle he had got from the recycling.

I'm waiting for NHS direct to call me back, but thought someone here may know what to do?

OP posts:

A while ago I got liquid persil in my eye. I called my pal at work who is a doctor to check on her computer how toxic it was. She was all giggles till the info came up on screen and then became very serious when she realised how dangerous it is.

Meandmy4 · 18/02/2018 20:54

A&E !
It is a toxic chemical,it is not meant for human consumption op! You can not be sure of the actual amount if any (hope not) .
Always better to safe than sorry

Clandestino · 18/02/2018 20:54

I drank insect poison my Grandpa used to spray the grapes with when I was 2. My uncle was supposed to be looking after me and DB but he was too busy doing some teenager stuff.
Ever since that day, even though I can't remember it I hate buttermilk and can't even swallow it, as he made me drink it and then throw u. That said, it's not recommended. Please go to A&E.

AnxiousAllTheTimeNow · 18/02/2018 20:55

A&e

NorthernLurker · 18/02/2018 20:57

Drinking, licking or sucking on any household cleaning substance is automatic straight to a and e. He will be Ok op but you must go now.

Offthebandwagonagain · 18/02/2018 20:57

Bloody hell op. Don’t post on here go to hospital!!!!!

HairyBallTheorem · 18/02/2018 20:57

Especially worrying if it was biological as that has enzymes in that will cause serious damage to skin/mucous membranes. I agree with the other posters saying A&E, don't wait for the call back from 111.

ohfourfoxache · 18/02/2018 20:57

A&E now, don’t wait

FannyWisdom · 18/02/2018 21:02

It's concentrated caustic chemicals.
It could be burning a path down his oesophagus.

Now, go now. Take the bottle but go NOW.
Fingers crossed, good luck.

UpstartCrow · 18/02/2018 21:05

If you think your child has taken something poisonous, take the child and the container straight to A&E.

TheFairyCaravan · 18/02/2018 21:05

You need to go to A&E and take the bottle with you.

Do not give him anything to drink because it might have damaged his oesophagus and the drink could cause more problems.

LipstickHandbagCoffee · 18/02/2018 21:18

A&E immediately detergents are a serious irritant. Do not induce vomiting
Good luck and hope this resolves ok

SersioulycanitgetWORSE · 18/02/2018 21:22

A and e now!!!!

SersioulycanitgetWORSE · 18/02/2018 21:23

A poster on here waited 11 hours for a call back that never came. A and e!! I would have been straight there!!

Nicknacky · 18/02/2018 21:26

I honestly shake my head about a poster who can casually post about the weekend away then say "oh what should I do"?

Fuck me. You shouldn't need to ask on the Internet to know to take your child to hospital. Common sense.

AnyFucker · 18/02/2018 21:27

I used to work in paediatric ICU

A 3yo was admitted after being forced to drink a similar household product. It burned a hole through her foodpipe and she was critically ill

Stop fucking about and take your child directly to A+E

LloydColeandtheCoconuts · 18/02/2018 21:27

Hi OP, I hope you and DS are ok. I’m presuming you’re are on your way to a and e and aren’t to panic stricken.
Flowers for you. I’m sure it will be fine.

jessei · 18/02/2018 21:28

Hope he's ok op

Nicknacky · 18/02/2018 21:30

anyfucker

Forced to drink?! How barbaric.

afreshnewname · 18/02/2018 21:32

That's exactly what I thought 😔 nicknacky

KitKat1985 · 18/02/2018 21:32

A&E. Now.

Snowysky20009 · 18/02/2018 21:33

Hope he's ok OP. Assuming you are at the hospital.....

shakeyourcaboose · 18/02/2018 21:34

Hoping all is ok and like pp have said, A&E and bring the bottle with you.

infinitewisdom · 18/02/2018 21:36

THIS

Hopefully you are at A&E now.

AnyFucker · 18/02/2018 21:39

Yes, Nick. Unfortunately that is absolutely true Sad
