Totally nerdy I know but I was on the M4 yesterday and stopped at Chievely and remembered the whole Gavin and Stacey debate about which one was best. That or Leigh Delaware.

I think they were all wrong and Membury is best.

But my favourite of all is Strensham on the M5 heading towards Worcester, only the North bound one though!

Now I'm going to have to plan a trip just to experience Tebay services!
I quite like Wetherby. It has 2 Costa Coffees. People always seem to forget about the 2nd one at the end of the concourse so it's usually much quieter than the 1st one but only like 100m walk away.

I used to love Gloucester but the prices really are ridiculous - and I'm not exactly skint. You keep picking up lovely looking stuff and saying HOW fucking much?!

Excluding the ‘posh’ ones, I like Cambridge, South Mimms and Northampton.

Thanks @assanitedbeauty obvs one day I'll go up that way to marvel at the lakes but obvs Tebay will be my real reason to go.

Also adding Gloucester services to my list as not far to go.

Gloucester services is very swanky, with the emphasis on wanky.

Looks nice but insanely expensive, full of Cotswold prats and a bit up its own arse.

Cobham services as mentioned above is a solid choice. Loads of reasonably priced food outlets, and a nice playground.

Not keen on Membury or Leigh Delamere, sorry.

To add, what's your favourite bit of motorway? Mine is the M5 southbound just after the avonmouth bridge with it being all raised up and lovely views.

Tebay, without a doubt.

Tebay but the southbound one. The northbound one is meh.

Another one for M6 toll road .... although you do have a niggly feeling that you are wasting the money you spent to save time on your journey by stopping there.

Gloucester looks like a hobbit burrow. There's a pond out the back isn't there?

Leicester Forest, only because Tom Hardy was there at the same time we were! But my husband failed to tell me until we were half way up the M1.....

Definitely Tebay. The hotel is lovely too.

I grade MSAs by food, so it's Gloucester, Cobham, Cambridge, Baldock, Peterborough, and then the Burger King sites. The transport cafés are Newark cattle market, Markham Moor, Midway/Prees chippy at Whitchurch, Welford for the faggots, the Stockyard at Hellaby and the Hollies near Cannock.

Oxford services is lovely in the summer. I've just booked a fortnight there in June.

Gloucester is lovely but there’s another one, I think Donington, which is spacious, clean and classy without being quite so farmer’s market.

Its by no means the best AT ALL.

But fleet holds so many in-betweeners style road trips to the coast or IOW festival memories for me that its always exciting to stop there if I find myself back in that part of the country

Gloucester services, and either M6 toll for motorway or M5 between avonmouth and Exeter!

It used to be Aust before the refurbishment when it still had a pizzaland (shows age😀) as it was on the way back to uni and was in a fantastic spot by the Severn bridge. Probably one of the posh ones or for non posh sedgemoor on the M5 southbound.

Worst are Chester or Taunton Deane which both always smell of drains 😷
