I've never heard it before but god, it's hilarious Grin

DS came back from school singing it and at first I thought his teacher must be quite odd, but it appears to be an actual song Grin

Where have you been? Also on that vein, the worm song.

PaleBlueWatch · 17/02/2018 19:42

Outer space, I think. DH was most disgusted that I don't know it.

What's the worm song?

OP posts:
Fekko · 17/02/2018 19:45

I’m glad you asked...

Nobody likes me everybody hates me
I think I'll away and eat worms,
Big fat juicy ones, wee thin skinny ones
See how they wiggle and squirm
You bite off the heads, and you suck out the juice
And then throw the skins away,
Nobody knows how I can live on works three times a day

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 17/02/2018 19:46

Oh ya canny push ya granny off a bus,
Oh ya canny push ye granny off a bus,
Oh ya canny push ya granny coz she's ya
Mammie's mammy.
Ya canny push ya granny off a bus.

My dd used to sing this in school. Brought back memories.

ImperfectTents · 17/02/2018 19:46

Did she get to the 'you can shove your other granny of the bus' verse?

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 17/02/2018 19:47

OMG. The worm song

PaleBlueWatch · 17/02/2018 19:49

I'm not as keen on the worms Shock

Yes. Daddy's mammy can be shoved off the bus, but not mammy's mammy Grin Grin Grin

The odds against it reachin earth are ninety nine tae waaaaaaan

Garmadonsmum · 17/02/2018 19:50

Grew up singing this. Strangely it was my dad who taught it to me.

Olddear · 17/02/2018 19:51

earlofhell · 17/02/2018 19:52

OP you need to get yourself a singing kettle dvd, im fond of 'the world must be coming to and end' and 'the wee kirkcubright centipede'. class.

ImperfectTents · 17/02/2018 19:52

Should be the mumsnet official anthem

Snowydaysarehere · 17/02/2018 19:54

Earl - the singing kettle is the best thing ever!

itsmeimcathyivecomehome · 17/02/2018 19:55

Two of my friends regularly sing the theme tune to "supergran" and nearly wet themselves laughing every time.

They're 44.

PaleBlueWatch · 17/02/2018 19:56

Should be the mumsnet official anthem

A new twist on the MIL threads Shock Grin

OP posts:
InfiniteCurve · 17/02/2018 19:57

Nobody likes me,everybody hates me,
I'm going down the garden to eat worms.
Long thin slimy ones, short fat fuzzy ones,
Gooey gooey gooey gooey worms!
Now the long thin slimy ones slide down easily,
the short fat fuzzy ones stick.....
The short fat fuzzy ones stick in your teeth
And the juice goes (slurpy sucky noise through teeth x3 Grin)
Soooooo you cut off the heads and you cut off the tails andd you throw the skins away,
And nobody knows how I survive on a hundred worms a day!
(Hey!!)
Kent,circa 1969......

ImperfectTents · 17/02/2018 19:58

DannyLaRuesBestFrock · 17/02/2018 20:02

Cookiefiend · 17/02/2018 20:07

The second verse of the worms song is best though...

Everybody loves me, nobody hates me
I really shouldn't have eaten those worms.
Up comes the first worm, up comes the second worm see how they squiggle and squirm.

If you have Alexa it will play a singing kettle mix. Also love the train to Glasgow.

UsernameInvalid66 · 17/02/2018 21:24

In my family's case it's daddy's mammy you cannae shove off a bus, cos she's too posh to take one!

GrannyGrissle · 17/02/2018 21:47

DM DOES NOT approve of this song nor one that starts 'Granny's in the cellar, i'm surprised you cannae smell her...' (DP are Scotish).

NoSquirrels · 17/02/2018 21:50

There’s a Katie Morag story with the Granny song in - it’s a fave here!
