And why
I have two
Wimbledon - so bad my maths teacher turned it off after 5 minutes
Angus thongs and perfect snogging - just girls chasing boys - worst plot line ever

OP posts:

Sharknado - no need to explain
Mega Shark v's Crocosaurus - was so ridiculously bad I had to watch to see if it got worse!

Chocywockydodahhhhhh · 18/02/2018 00:11

Born on the 4th July- turned off half way in

Bride wars- grow the fuck up the pair of you

LavateLasManos · 18/02/2018 00:18

The Limey, just awful 😤

bettytaghetti · 18/02/2018 00:24

Thank god I'm not the only one who can't stand Mamma Mia; I love Meryl Streep but my god woman, you can't sing!

Wondered how many people would mention Mother! but found it interesting that it's the only film I've been to that had the audience talking to each other afterwards (albeit mostly saying wtf was that!) and I wanted to find out what it all meant afterwards.

Recently watched Kingsman 2, having enjoyed the first in a light hearted way, and was so disappointed in how terrible it was.

Flappyears · 18/02/2018 00:25

Definitely Inception and Unbreakable - glad to see I’m not alone with those two, whatever the critics say, together with the ‘cult following’.

Added to those, and I generally love an art house movie, is Calvary. It was billed as a dark comedy. I thought I had the blackest of senses of humour, but this was just unremittingly grim. Not only did it lack wit or charm, it also failed to have a single likeable character or illustrate a single thing about the human condition. Needless to say, the critics loved it.

AmberNectarine · 18/02/2018 00:28

The Village

MrsGruber · 18/02/2018 00:31

Nativity 3.

Freyanna · 18/02/2018 00:31

Tora! Tora! Tora! on a first date, there wasn't another one! (His choice).

user1495490253 · 18/02/2018 00:33

The Keith Lemon Movie.

My DH made me go with him. I'd never walked out of a cinema before then.

iceycage · 18/02/2018 00:36

I thought mother! Was brilliant. It seems so unfair to me that it gets such a bad rap!

user1985 · 18/02/2018 00:37

I absolutely hate Willie Wonka and the chocolate factory (old one). I will turn that shit off immediately.

Also Dirty dancing is a waste of time.

And finally, very controversial but I cannot stand The Lion King. I hated it even when I was a child.

ta14 · 18/02/2018 00:43

Snakes on a plane - dreadful doesn't even begin to describe it.

Black Swan is up there too as a pp mentioned!

Toadinthehole · 18/02/2018 03:19

Waterboy, or in my mind, what I did in Dublin one Sunday when I was broke and had two hours to kill.

Hildago: ditto, Rotorua, NZ

Meet Joe Black; Kiss the Girls, ditto, Basingstoke.

All definite B-movie stuff, although Hildago probably wins because of Viggo Mortensen's seriously bad ham.

Also Antonia's Line for ideology over art.

I actually like Moulin Rouge, but then I like (good) hammy acting. If anyone says they hate Masque of the Red Death I'm coming after you!

Toadinthehole · 18/02/2018 03:26

user1985,

The Lion King is a pile of wank.

You have my absolute support on that one.

"Slimy yet satisfying" my bony arse. Lions like a big hunk of freshly killed meat, and in Africa they aren't the king of beasts anyway.

A dull, formulaic story dressed up in a leopard skin.

EmmaGrundyForPM · 18/02/2018 03:41

I started to watch Mamma Mia on tv once and turned it off after 15 minutes it was so dire.

Ditto Dirty Dancing.

Kraggle · 18/02/2018 04:27

Lemony yes! We watched it for James Corden and Matthew Horne. God knows why I thought it was Nicolas Hoult!!

SecretsRsecrets · 18/02/2018 04:41

Yy to Event Horizon

Angel Heart w/ Mickey Rourke and Lisa Bonnet
Seven w/ Brad Pitt
Titanic - (not the worst but annoying watching them run around in freezing water for an hour inside the ship and the cold didn't faze them at all)Hmm
Emma w/ Gwyneth Paltrow (love the original JA story, but it's British not American, all I could hear was the American accents and the screenplay felt more American as well)Sad

mamalovesviolet · 18/02/2018 04:56

Shallow Hal.

Awful just awful.

FairfaxAikman · 18/02/2018 05:04

The Hole. I will never get those two hours of my life back.

TSSDNCOP · 18/02/2018 05:23

Boxing Helena
Oceans 12
Mamma Mia
Bridesmaids

CigarsofthePharoahs · 18/02/2018 05:32

I agree with AI being on the list.
Everyone seemed to love it at the time. I could not work out why, it managed to be both distressing and dull.
I am Legend. The book is good. The film is not.
Along Came A Spider - same. Wrong cast, mangled the plot too much.
And finally,
Iron Sky. DH told me that it was so bad it was good. No, it was just bad. Really really bad.

tootssweet · 18/02/2018 05:37

Braveheart - utter tank of wank! Historically inaccurate & Mel Gibson irritated me beyond belief with that godawful attempt at a Scottish accent

King long - was my first night out in a very long time after having dc1 & DP picked this to watch. Someone needs to have a word with Peter Jackson about brevity as all his films are at least an hour too long (lotr & I didn't bother with the Hobbit!)

How to train your dragon 2 - film was ok but Cate Blanchett's accent was all over the place & I couldn't enjoy it/listen to her

marcopront · 18/02/2018 06:25

I agree with SpongeBob (I had a nap), The English Patient (too long), La La Land (what was the plot?)

And I add 300. It was the first time out after DD was born so I had high expectations but it just seemed to be a video game made into a movie.

BitOfFun · 18/02/2018 06:58

The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford.

I struggled through and left after an hour and a half. Couldn't give a shit about anybody in it.

Clandestino · 18/02/2018 07:03

Titanic. Yawn. It's tragic but .i wanted the boat sinker earlier and faster. Put me off Leo forever.
Perfect Storm. Awful, pathetic and boring. Oh, and Final Destination. It should've been a dark comedy, not a serious movie.
