Settle a minor major! disagreement please.

Is it acceptable to have pancakes only as the main meal tomorrow night or should it be a main meal then pancakes as dessert?

Whichever has the most votes for we will do I am cooking and will do whatever I want anyway Grin

Thanks to an '80's advertising campaign my husband and I still call it Jif lemon day. We'll be having our crepes for dessert with lemon and sugar. Youngest child will insist on Nutella. And we'll have our annual "greatest tosser" competition.

mathanxiety · 12/02/2018 20:06

Crepes with lemon juice and sugar for dessert. Cajun red beans and rice for dinner.

ultrareal · 12/02/2018 20:07

I shall be having a couple of lemon and sugar pancakes for starters, two or three for mains, followed by a couple more lemon and sugar pancakes for dessert.

So there!

Beamur · 12/02/2018 20:10

I would have only sweet ones with lemon and sugar until I was full (no dinner)
DH would be truly aghastvas such appalling behaviour Grin he would have dinner followed by one or two at the most pancakes (lemon & sugar the only acceptable filling)

FoofFighter · 12/02/2018 20:11

@HobnobBob wow what a great day for a birthday Grin

God, main meal. Even if slathered in Nutella. Otherwise you have to cook and THEN do pancakes. There is surely some law against this...

buzzbottom · 12/02/2018 20:11

Pancakes for tea!

I've already messaged my mum saying
"Pancake day tomorrow.. what time should I come round"... I don't know if she thinks I'm joking but I've gone over the last 7 years since I moved out so she should know I'm serious!

PenguinsandPandas · 12/02/2018 20:15

We have savoury then sweet. I have smoked salmon with crème freche and DH has ham cheese and egg, both with cider. Then we have Nutella pancakes for dessert sometimes with ice cream and banana.

Pancake day tomorrow so would go for pancakes only.

c75kp0r · 12/02/2018 20:20

Wall to wall batter here tomorrow evening.

Nocabbageinmyeye · 12/02/2018 20:20

Pancakes for dinner and not a savoury one in sight, all sweet and made up of:

Lemon & sugar
Jam
Butter & sugar
Melted curly wurly and ice cream

geekone · 12/02/2018 20:23

Both savoury pancakes followed by sweet yum

MincemeatTart · 12/02/2018 20:28

It’s not Pancake dat though. It’s Shrove Tuesday.

Linnet · 12/02/2018 20:29

We have just pancakes for dinner on pancake day, I don’t want to cook a meal and then make pancakes. We have them sweet, maple syrup, Nutella, lemon and sugar 😋

ruleshelpcontrolthefun · 12/02/2018 20:29

Bacon, scrambled eggs, hash browns and pancakes with maple syrup.

Bit of a break

More pancakes with Nutella, squirty cream and sprinkles.

Bit of a break

Cup of tea. Pancake with butter and jam.

Bit of a break. Put pjs on. Hop into bed with a pancake and butter on the sly. Mind the crumbs or DH will go spare.

HTH

Petalflowers · 12/02/2018 20:33

Dessert

CertainHalfDesertedStreets · 12/02/2018 20:34

For tea obv.

But my kids have been trained to think a pancake rolled around the thinnest smear of Nutella/honey/maple syrup down the centre is acceptable Halo so we eat them once a week or so and they have about eight each

Springtrolls · 12/02/2018 20:38

All day pancake fest.

For dinner pancake pie - it’s lasagne but instead of using pasta use pancakes. Sounds weird but lush.

Them whatever pancakes are left for later.

MichaelFabricantsHair · 12/02/2018 20:39

Pancakes for tea here, no savoury either, just sweet goodness Grin
Couldn't be arsed making a main meal and then pancakes.

Oogle · 12/02/2018 20:44

We’ll have pancakes with DS around 5.30 after pre-school and then have dinner around 8. DH isn’t a big fan of pancakes so he refuses to just have a pancake dinner Sad

user1486076969 · 12/02/2018 20:46

Sweet, one or two, for dessert with sugar/lemon or nutella.

BackforGood · 12/02/2018 20:54

Pudding with lashings of maple syrup
However, the "main" will only be something 'on toast' or a sandwich or whatever, not a full cooked dinner.

HildaZelda · 12/02/2018 22:08

They'll be for dinner here tomorrow night.

SweetMoon · 12/02/2018 22:10

We'll have them for dessert only.

Amanduh · 12/02/2018 22:12

Pudding here! I never have savoury ones. And I hate American style ones.

Lolipoplady · 12/02/2018 22:31

Just pancakes for dinner! Savoury then sweet (this year it'll be a Chinese aubergine savoury filling, and then lemon and sugar for pudding).

Although dp will have the batter made into Yorkshire pudding instead of a pancake, because he doesn't like pancakes GrinHmm
