Coriander. Tastes like soap.
Tomatoes. Slimy.

EnthusiasmIsDisturbed · 10/02/2018 08:53

Anything wobbly - jelly, panna cotta, the Chinese puddings served in dim sum restaurants and worse savory wobbly foods bits of meat and veg in savory jelly 🤢

Will add dim sum to my list

I’m amazed at how restricted some people’s diets must be.

Also not at all surprised that even on a thread specifically about food dislikes, posters feel the need to put the boot into vegans. I’m not one but really, why?

Yeah me too. I'm also sad to see so much black pudding mentioned as it's the food of the gods and very nutritious.

I eat almost everything. However tripe sausage, when encountered in France does give me pause. Oysters are another thing I mostly avoid.

LakieLady · 10/02/2018 09:03

Blimey, I think of myself as a fussy eater and my only real no-no's are eel, seafood of the cockle/whelk type and offal. Even then, I don't think it's weird to like them, it's just a matter of taste.

I'm quite surprised by the hatred for blue cheese and celery - not only do I like the both but stilton with celery is a fabulous combination.

saladdays66 · 10/02/2018 09:04

But it makes my h trump the most awful deathly farts, so he is banned from eating it. It's blood!!

emptyshelves · 10/02/2018 09:04

carrot orange soup.

FleurDeLizzie · 10/02/2018 09:07

Tinned tomato soup. Heartburn in a bowl.

Unicorn81 · 10/02/2018 09:09

Fermented fish

alotalotalot · 10/02/2018 09:09

Fish - except tinned tuna and prawns. Salmon and battered cod at a push.
Celery
Liver/offal

I thought I was quite fussy but my list is a lot shorter than many.

sashh · 10/02/2018 09:09

Celery, prawns, corned beef hash. I like all the ingredients of corned beef hash separately but then something happens when they are put together.

dementedma · 10/02/2018 09:15

porridge. the devil's vomit

Sparklingbrook · 10/02/2018 09:16

Yes I agree with porridge. No matter which way you choose to prepare it it's a bowl of sludge.

floriad · 10/02/2018 09:17

Btw, when I say that I dislike pascal celery:

I'll eat it. But I myself would simply never think of adding it to a dish.

BakedBeans47 · 10/02/2018 09:20

Porridge is revolting. I have no idea why it’s inexplicably everywhere these days. I’ve tried so many times to like it but it’s just rank.

welshgirlwannabe · 10/02/2018 09:20

Wow some really fussy eaters on here! I'm glad me and dp will eat just about anything. I hope the kids turn out the same.
My major exception is anything containing aspartame. I just hate it, it is so chemical tasting and leaves such a strange horrible aftertaste. The worst is when they sneak it into otherwise normal food like yoghurt. Or tonic water. It's vile and it tastes like poison.

purpleunicorns · 10/02/2018 09:20

Coconut. I can't even use coconut shampoo as the smell makes me heave 🤢

liz70 · 10/02/2018 09:21

Olives (grimace). Their name isn't an anagram of so evil for no reason. They smell and taste like cat shit. or at least how I imagine it would

Trashboat · 10/02/2018 09:23

Porridge - esp the sweet 'oats so simple' syrupy type stuff. The smell makes me wanna 😷
Rice pudding
Custard
Smooth mash
Offal

joystir59 · 10/02/2018 09:25

Will eat anything called food. Prefer veggie stuff but will eat all food. Have travelled extensively on a tight budget and lived in this country on one too. Food is better than no food.

liz70 · 10/02/2018 09:25

"I'm also sad to see so much black pudding mentioned as it's the food of the gods and very nutritious."

I'm veggie now, but I adored black pudding before. Big, thick slices, nicely browned in the frying pan, with some ketchup - 'twas heavenly.

AdaColeman · 10/02/2018 09:27

Okra
Kale
Donner kebab
Turnip and swede especially when mashed
Laverbread
Butternut squash especially in risotto
Quorn
Oily gritty chocolate
Coriander

But I love offal and fish/seafood.

Schmoochypoos · 10/02/2018 09:27

Tripe, heart and kidneys are something I just can’t bring myself to eat. Will eat literally everything else. Oh apart from liquorice that is revolting

liz70 · 10/02/2018 09:30

Also, before I went veggie I would happily eat most types of offal, except the gross ones like tripe or brains (which I don't think was even available by then). But liver, heart, kidneys, very much so.

Roomba · 10/02/2018 09:31

Tempeh (fermented soy bean curd) . Tried it once after someone told me it was delicious - it smelled and tasted exactly like vomit with Zoflora poured on top! Couldn't finish it . The next morning, I opened the fridge, smelled the remains of the dish I'd cooked, and violently vomited on the floor! Never had such an extreme reaction to any other food.

Oysters - fishy phlegm with grit in. Urgh.

Custard. Think school dinners gave me a phobia of the stuff, still can't bear it despite liking all the ingredients separately.
