The Scottish Government's consultation on changes to the GRA closes on 1st March 2018.

The rest of the UK will likely follow Scotland's decision, so this is your chance to make your views known.

For those who don't yet understand the risks to women from changes to the Gender Recognition Act, please read this document. It is pretty straightforward

Then please complete the Scottish Government's consultation.

You do NOT have to be Scottish or live in Scotland to complete it.

The brilliant Dr Nic Williams wrote a guide to the consultation

PLEASE complete it and pass to friends/family

My opinion.
Changing gender should be illegal. You are the gender you are when you are born. If people are unhappy in their bodies money should be spent on extensive counselling etc, not hormone treatment and sex changes.

I see what you are saying, confusednotcom2, but I can't draw much comfort, I'm afraid. Many of the comments and the article are so "Ha, Ha! Bloody women, serve them right!".

The Daily Mail seems to have moved into full Anti-Women mode of late.
This article somehow slipped through a few days ago, which clearly illustrates the current threats to womens' safety and privacy.

<a class="break-all" href="//www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-5357509/Swim-England-guidance-trans-swimmers-slammed.html" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-5357509/Swim-England-guidance-trans-swimmers-slammed.html

I'm sure many people would have a view on it. Daily Mail HQ have allowed 3, yes THREE comments to stand! I have tried to post a perfectly cogent, non-abusive comment, - not allowed. Other M Netters have tried,- blocked too. (and no more comments from anyone will be accepted - it is only a few days old!)

And today we learn that all women now have nothing to complain about - their lives are the equal, if not better than the poor beleaguered men, Oh, and Emmeline Pankhurst was a terrorist!......

Just sent the above to Dear Jeremy, and asked him how he feels about the fall in the vote share amongst women (46% to 40%. Source; YouGov poll)

Please keep sharing everyone.
I asked my Scottish friend to fill it out, sent her a rambling Whatsapp message about the end of women's rights and women's-only anything will now mean mixed-sex. I've had no reply.

Unfortunately we had never discussed the issue prior to this and she's probably at the "transfolk are all lovely vulnerable gay men what's the problem?" stage (def no where near peak trans).... and now thinks I'm a crazy loon.
I wish I had that post to direct her to a few days ago!

I'm not sure if this has already been mentioned but there's also a consultation on the teaching of sex and relationship education and PSHE in schools which closes tomorrow:
