Senior White House aide Rob Porter physically assaulted two ex-wives, they tell @theintercept. Full story to come in the morning.
His first wife, Colbie Holderness, provided these photos from a vacation they took together in Florence, Italy:

This comes after the Daily Mail published an interview with his second wife alleging abuse, with the White House standing firmly behind him. John Kelly: "Rob Porter is a man of true integrity and honor and I can’t say enough good things about him."

How was he ever hired to work in the White House? Ex-spouses are interviewed during background checks - somebody had to decide to ignore it.

So the WH hired Porter, or kept him on staff, after the FBI was told he abused two women. Because of these reports, he was denied a full security clearance, but they let him continue serving in a senior job handling classified info. His resignation alone isn't nearly enough here.
